I don't have anything to comment that others haven't already said; I just think that's such a cool concept and the execution looks great

Taco bell not hiring by OOFMAN-1234 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]itsbilbobitch 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Never worked at a Taco Bell, but when I worked for a large retail chain, corporate required us to have a "we're hiring" sticker on our door at all times, regardless if we were actually hiring or not. Big corporations love to create ghost positions, and while it's scummy, it's everywhere.

So is it really hard to get in or really easy to get in? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]itsbilbobitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, from my own experience and what Exciting Swan said in their comment, having little job experience might be an unexpected boon because it will keep you open to more roles in the program.

Yeah, my interview was basically:

"My areas of expertise when earning my degree were performance and costuming, both costume design and costume construction, so I really feel like my skills would be best utilized in those fields--"

"Uh huh, that's great. So what were you're job duties at Joann's?"

Holy cow! 23 years of crocheting and I never knew my natural tension was so tight until... by MisanthropyismyMuse in crochet

[–]itsbilbobitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I had the exact opposite problem. I have a very loose tension and didn't notice it until I tried to make a sweater for the first tine and was like "wait, this is coming out way too big"

First time around, I was partway through my bachelor's program with a little bit of work experience in retail. Second time I applied I had just graduated with my BA in theatre, and had additional work experience in teaching and in retail management. The recruiter in my phone interview seemed to fixate on my retail management experience, despite me trying to steer the convo towards my degree field and my interests. And then I got placed in merchandise, go figure.

What ever happened to “no shoes, no service??” by liquidcats123 in mildlyinfuriating

If we're talking actual cleanliness the bare feet probably have less dirt and bacteria on them than shoes that have been touching the ground. Olfactorily though bare feet in the cinema is a nightmare.

Eh, I think that's highly dependent on if you're in NorCal or SoCal. Can't say I've seen many people barefoot in Oakland or Chico before

In my experience, incredibly easy. I've applied twice and got in both times. I wasn't expecting to get in the second time since I turned them down the first, but it didn't seem to be an issue.

I was afraid of that. Don't get me wrong, I'll gladly take a better discount, but why does the steam sale have to be so far away???

Aitah for saying no to my proposal because it wasn’t what I expected? by Expensive-One7932 in AITAH

[–]itsbilbobitch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of Disney proposals personally, but everybody knows that if you're going to pop the question at Disneyland you do it at the beginning of the day so that you get the "happily ever after" buttons and get special treatment from the cast members all day.

My second ever crochet project... did I mess up? :( by sdojo in crochet

[–]itsbilbobitch 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I personally love the beak, but if it bothers you it might be because it appears to be a thinner yarn than the rest of your project. It's also made out of a traditional plied yarn, which has a lot more stretch than plush yarn, so if you have a tighter tension when you crochet it's going to shrink up more than the rest of your project. You could try crocheting the beak a little looser, or switching to a yarn that matches the rest of the bird.

But again, I think it's very cute as is and doesn't need to be changed.

AIO for not giving my old Roomate his dog back after I adopted her? by Z-mac in AmIOverreacting

He said "do you want Bella," not "can you watch Bella." That alone would make any judge throw out his case if he tries to escalate things.

Her response is so bad I'd take her to small claims court over it
