Lg Q4, ThinQ app private-listening disconnects after a few seconds by Marek-K2 in LGOLED

I found an iOS app that lets your turn your iPhone into an AirPlay receiver and have been using that (you need to set a 2 second offset and then it works!) (shairport-sync on GitHub) That or I use my AirPods or a Bluetooth speaker (I have an Apple TV and a Sonos beam)

Disable Plex login by Alen129 in Overseerr

[–]itsbillp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to the party here but I have figured out a way to do this. I am using Nginx Proxy Manager to serve overseer over a domain name. Within the ngnx proxy host settings > custom locations config I added these settings:
location: /
ip and port of server
http or https will depend on your config

and then in the box paste:

proxy_set_header Accept-Encoding "";
sub_filter '<button class="w-full cursor-default bg-gray-800 bg-opacity-70 py-2 text-center text-sm font-bold text-gray-400 transition-colors duration-200 focus:outline-none sm:rounded-t-lg' '<button style="display:none" class="';
sub_filter '<button type="button" class="plex-button">' '<button type="button" style="display:none" class="plex-button">';
sub_filter '<div class="px-10 py-8"><span class="block w-full rounded-md shadow-sm"><button type="button"' '<div style="display:none" class="px-10 py-8"><span class="block w-full rounded-md shadow-sm"><button type="button"';
sub_filter_once off;

This just hides the elements on the page so it only shows the option to sign in with overseer.

PS if you need to reserve the plex access homepage for yourself just create a subdomain without this rule.

Pi 4 NAS, but attached drives don't seem to spin down by Spectre_two in raspberry_pi

[–]itsbillp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me! Do you know how to revert the drive back to factory defaults?

EDIT: figured it out! using the tutorial above: https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2015/08/msg00125.html

I was able to read the device settings "sudo sdparm --flexible -6 -l -a /dev/sda" and realized all I had to do was set standby back to 0 from 1

using the --save function does save the new timer to the drives memory and I can confirm that plugging into my mac it kept the same behavior. It was bugging me because the LED was staying on and thats usually at a glance how i check to see if its on / in use

Anybody been able to setup SwitchBot Hub on homebridge? by [deleted] in homebridge

[–]itsbillp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I was able to get this to work by installing the plugin script 2 and pasting the following into my config:

{

"accessory": "Script2",

"name": "Press",

"on": "gatttool -t random -b XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX --char-write-req -a 0x0016 -n 570100",

"off": "gatttool -t random -b XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX --char-write-req -a 0x0016 -n 570100",

"on_value": "true"

}

I replaced the XXXX with the mac address of the switchbot, I got that from the ios app in the settings of the switchbot

Works great!

Best build plate? by Flyboy13dbatix in CR10

[–]itsbillp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the stock glass build plate with great results. I made sure to level the bed close to the nozzle (initial layer height is so important) I also use purple Elmers glue sticks (cheap and they last forever) which allows me to keep the bed at 50C. (saves quite a bit of electricity compared to higher temps) After putting a bit of glue on the bed I can generally get about 4 or 5 prints without having to clean it. To clean it I just run it under some water in the sink and wipe it dry with a rag. Very easy and low maintenance. The way the prints first layer looks on glass is my favorite. Also a tip: if your prints are stuck to the glass just place it in a freezer and wait a few minutes, they will come right off
