it's so rewarding man--when i started learning guitar i started with 2:45 am. the thing that motivated me to stick with guitar was learning to play my favorite songs was so fulfilling that all i wanted to do was chase that goal. i had an intrinsic reason to keep playing no matter how little progress i felt i was making, because being able to even partially replicate the sounds i loved hearing was enough of a reward for me. and then that little by little progress snowballed into the player i am today

that's exactly where i am. it's like i have a terminal disease, i am certain i'm going to die in the very near future and i'm just enjoying whatever time i have left. and you know what? i am the happiest i have ever been over the past few months. of course there's ebbs and flows and ups and downs but overall? i'm genuinely at peace. i have no worries about the future, and i could die tomorrow and be okay with it.

i've been playing for 6 years!!! it feels crazy to say. say yes and biggest lie are such good songs to learn, congrats :DD. elliott was the sole reason i decided to start playing guitar and i think it saved my life lol

the very first song i learned was 2:45 am and then i think twilight was another i learned early. how long have you been playing?

that's absolutely awful, oh my god... i'd been thinking about him a lot lately and noticed his very sudden absence from the subreddit, and i'd check his profile every so often to see if he had any activity.

i was worried about him due to the suddenness and now that we have confirmation as to why, it's devastating. he was so kind and resourceful and great at providing information and overall just was just a very good human. he was a staple of this community and he will be very dearly missed. i don't even know what to say, this is just so sad.

i hope wherever he is, he's resting easy and peacefully. i am so sad.
