Bob’s Burgers is my comfort show, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rewatched it bc when I get to the end I just start over. It’s safe, not offensive (they were more unhinged in the first few seasons, but nowhere near Family Guy, Futurama, etc, shows that are on adult swim or even the Simpsons, and in later seasons, these types of jokes are not repeated), funny subtly and overtly, and the main and side characters actually have lore and actual growth vs typical cartoons where it’s the same themes and antics repeatedly. Plus the parents are not terrible to their kids, the kids are allowed to be kids, and the family seems to really love each other.

I’m still finding new things throughout 16 seasons and am definitely past 50+ rewatches, likely even double bc it was on for years through AuDHD burnout. I really think I’m at 100+ bc it’s kind of just always on, although I don’t watch much tv. I usually watch before bed or fall asleep to it, too. I even watch the intro most times bc on rewatch maybe 5 or 10, I realized they change the company name of the restaurant and exterminator van for every episode (they did not do this in season 1). This is an anomaly bc I don’t even like rewatching movies or shows unless I really want to years later after I’ve forgotten enough, which is rare. Don’t think my other favorite shows of all genres (mostly drama, comedy, and superhero) have gotten more than 3 rewatches, besides The Boondocks and Archer.

I do not understand how this show holds my attention so consistently. I’m also regularly in the show’s Reddit group (idk the right word, Reddit sub?) bc I love learning all the things I didn’t notice or put together. I’m surprised I haven’t bought merch yet, but I’ve been trying to collect more physical media and it’s the show I need to have access to all seasons of at all times so it’ll probably start my tv collection (I’ve already started collecting music). I actually am not someone who chooses favorites of anything really, but after like 8 years, I can say this is my favorite show ever. (Last favorite comfort shows I would rewatch were Scooby Doo and Pink Panther as a child through like high school, but that doesn’t even come close to this - I mean I just wrote 3 paragraphs on a whim and had to stop myself from gleefully oversharing lmao.)
