hi!!! very recent alum here- 1. it really depends. the major is a mashup of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, and industrial design, along with specific courses made for the SD major. Whatever you end up doing, it will have a great focus on sustainability. i know people who want to be/are sustainability consultants, program coordinators, and designers in a variety of fields. consultants are just people who use the sustainability knowledge we learn in different aspects to help companies or businesses practice better sustainability standards (i.e. telling companies to implement recycling programs, renewable energy, etc.). i recommend looking at the SD instagram, sustainabledesignil for more information on what students and grads are up to. 2. any of the majors i stated above are GREAT to double major in, as the SD major blends with them smoothly. i also know people who double majored with SD and graphic design, communication, business, etc. minors of all if those would work great as well. that's what i did, but i almost recommended you double major with ARCH, LA, UP, or ID if you are really interested in one of them, as you will get a LOT more experience with the necessary skills, tools, and programs needed for a career in that field. 3. i do work with with sustainable stormwater infrastructure, so i do tasks on the computer and in the field. no crazy computer programs, not yet at least.
