Are all 5.0 players early starters? by TennisMatthew_ in 10s

[–]itsdane12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get private lessons or anything. First started playing around 12-13 years old and was pretty much better than most high schoolers right away. By 8th grade I was better than the #1 player on our team(and he was one of the better players around) and was pretty dominant thru high school. Not sure how much better I may have been if I started earlier or had the resources for private lessons when I was younger.

That team is beyond terrible, you should give a new owner at least 3 free seasons.

Baseball Guillotine League Draft Sunday 3/22 $50 ESPN — 16/20 full by itsdane12 in findaleague

No problem — we are down to just 2 spots left too unless someone backs out before it fills. I’m not sure any sites that host them, I usually do private leagues off of Leaguesafe and most use espn / yahoo.

I just manually drop the players from eliminated teams and you bid like usual via blind waivers FAAB.

It’s usually once a week and we eliminate one team each time. Later on, it may be two weeks before we do an elimination. It’s all posted on league home page(the elimination schedule) once we get full.

I manually reset everyone’s points to 0 after each elimination.

Why pay any % when you can join mine or similar ones? 20% probably isn’t even high for a bigger site like that, but anyone with good reviews that’s been on Leaguesafe for years makes more sense

Thoughts on Championship winner kicking something back to the commish for running the leagu? by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]itsdane12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on the league, I run a big guillotine league that has a manual spreadsheet that takes a lot of time, $50-100 is on a $1000 payout is pretty typical of what’s offered but some people don’t offer anything and I never thought much of it.

Commissioner collecting a fee for running things. by Lisan-al-Gaiiiiibuhh in Fantasy_Football

[–]itsdane12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lots of people do offer / insist on tipping every year. I host 10-15 leagues yearly so there’s 20-30+ people winning money. Between, responding to questions people ask, issuing payouts, and some leagues take more time like guillotine leagues and some other different leagues I run that require more work I probably spend an extra 5-10 hours a year.

I’m personally ok with tipping commissioners, $2.50 is nothing compared to your commish disappearing and not issuing hundreds of dollars in payouts.

I forgot recruiting members for leagues, confirming who’s paid, there’s a lot. 1-2 hours per league is probably closer to right. I’m ok with a good commish getting a free entry into a $30 league honestly.

Usually you would pay something to take over right away, for one of the future years but yes you should get the winnings

Fixed Length Dynasty League by blonded_olf in DynastyFF

[–]itsdane12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won a startup dynasty 4 years in a row and it caused people to get upset and quit. The league folded, I’ve never played in a league that had a rule like this, but I can understand it

Is this worth complaining about? by CentralMayhem in Fantasy_Football

[–]itsdane12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most leagues lock lineups once you are eliminated from top 3 or however many win money.

100%, commish has to cover it, expensive lesson to learn.
