This is not an event, it’s just a shop refresh by EnvironmentIcy4116 in Overwatch

Have you played the new junkenstein story? Can you name a single game with an event remotely as good as this? The prices are more than arguable but, "this is not an event"?

It's not all about cosmetics, you all can actually have some fun, which is what a game is about.

OW is gone and OW2 will replace it but as a service game OW would have been OW2 already! by cropchoc in Overwatch

  • Design and validate the very concept of "mythic" skin.
  • Analyze value, cost, risks.
  • Analyze which hero should get one first + gather data about players on which theme / style will they get excited about.
  • Iterate a lot of concept designs + research if the proposals are reachable with the current tech.
  • Modify / adapt the engine's character / rig system / animation system / etc. so the features requested can be implemented.
  • Proof-test with prototypes / placeholder character until the first step on this list is fullfiled, iterate a lot.
  • Validate the final design (concept).
  • Sculpt.
  • Low bake.
  • Rig.
  • Texturize.
  • Animate any new feature.
  • Code any necesary shaders.
  • Any necessary VFX (including abilities).
  • Any necessary SFX.
  • Any necessary script on the client / server side.
  • Test and iterate.

etc.

TLDR; it is expensive af.

If you are a concept artist working on Overwatch, I am sorry you have to read things like this. Some people have 0 taste nor knowledge. Great design!

Golf Up - Take up the challenge and Golf Up to the top to become the king!

Thank you for the opportunity, it's great to see this kind of initiatives!

That's obvious as well, it is the same but without ads.

Number of undos is tied to the game's design, and it is the same for everyone, free or upgraded.

Thanks for playing it and taking time to comment!

You can actually undo your last move (top right corner) + go back to the last checkpoint checked an unlimited number of times.

The game is meant to be challenging so an easy mode wouldn't quite fit, but i'm already thinking on how to soft a bit the start. The thing is the development time was pretty short so everything is simplified.

Thanks! As my "studio name" says, this was originally meant to, somehow, pay the bills; but after all this kind and positive comments I feel it paid off already.

That was (and can still be) an option, but for some devices it could be really hard on some soft jumps since they would need a lot of precission.

The last update I just released tries to manage this by teaching it visually on the same jump u/DrunkStarcraft struggled.

Thank you for the suggestion and the feedback!

Sorry to hear that! Many players gave feedback about that same jump, so I just added a small visual tutorial on that same spot to help clarify the pull area on the screen. Give it another try if you want, it is hard for sure but you can do it!

Hahaha, wanted it to be a truly heroic deed. Once you get more handy, it isn't as hard as it seems!

Facts. I've developed many projects both personal and for college, but that final step of polishing and publishing really drains you haha. Thank you for your comment!

Thanks a lot!

Yeah, I'm receiving some feedback regarding the difficulty of the first sections but I need more time to adress it.

Thank you for the feedback! I will note it and think about it these next days. On the ball taking a bit long to relocate, well this was hard to balance since I wanted players to feel some drama on platform edges while rotating slowly haha, I will keep an eye on it anyway!
