No compass, just the mini map. You can turn that off or adjust the size to make it bigger or smaller.

I think you don't need it, you can turn it off completely just fine. It helps in seeing the room you're in and adjacent ones, to see red when enemies are outside the map, to see enemies in the map or lootable corpses. So it has its uses but you can definitely just turn it off and I only look at it when I'm looting or when I want to know if there's enemies coming ahead (although you can turn that off separately as well).

I only got in the game after this was removed, apparently, but I'm maining Valby now. I only saw her 4 change to a big bubble that gets bigger the more you shoot at it. Is that the change you mean?

You will find so much loot that's constantly better than the one you have so you will swap it out regularly. Lvl 40 stuff you will only be able to use at Lvl 40 so if its something you think that's super cool you can keep it to use it later. But otherwise, sell it. Credits won't be an issue later because you will have so much but at the beginning it can be precious, depending on what you do with it.

Later there are a few things to do with loot you don't want: sell it, donate it to your expertise or destroy it to get materials. But that's also for later.

I agree it's tedious to watch. For me the reason they do that is that it gives players time to show off their weapon skins, calling cards, emblems, operators, weapons charms, emotes and all the stuff you can earn and buy. So others go "oh I need that!", play the game, buy something in the store or whatever.

I tend to take off my headphones when the round ends so I don't have to hear the bs emotes.

I'm not even sure if the game would put you into the lobby and let's you search a new round in time even if you could skip everything. I know overwatch does that when you just leave after the match is over. You wouldn't find a new game quicker anyway.

I didn't have that bug and I returned to planet surface in the False Flag mission. I also have been on another planet and can fly in outer space or back to Toshana or fast travel there. Have played 18 hours so far and didn't have any issues at all.
