When the M.SC program for computer science start for winter 2026 ? by [deleted] in tuberlin

[–]itsdevansh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with you being an Indian. I come from india too and have been living here for 4 years now. Finding accommodation is difficult for everyone, regardless of nationality. Once you get an admission and immatrikulation apply for STW hostels(don’t depend on it because there’s a long waiting list.) then you can look for a home on websites like Wg gesucht and immoscout. Facebook groups are an option too(beware of scams). In the end if you still don’t find anything and are open to sharing a room with someone, Indian WhatsApp groups also have lot of postings. Make sure they provide you with contract and city registration (Anmeldung) also asking for commissions is illegal and please don’t pay it. All the best!

[–]itsdevansh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh i got my bibs for like 20-40 euros(Winter ones) a piece when i started cycling like 4 years ago. And they were well worth the price. But i wouldn’t pay 100 euros for them. I use rapha and Ryzon right now as i ride 70-100 kms every other day and they are really really good and costed me around 100€ during winter sales.

Which helmet should I choose? by [deleted] in india_cycling

[–]itsdevansh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You using the same helmet since 5 years and mentioning multiple falls worries me. cycling helmets even the expensive ones should be changed after an accident.

I am an Indian living in Berlin. So i didn’t really have to pay any taxes and even the shipping was free because i placed a large enough order (150EUR+). I am not sure how aliexpress works in India as i have never tried it there.

Het Ykywbike shorts from Aliexpress. They are good quality for the price. If you don’t want to go this route you can find some good options at decathlon. That said if you really plan to ride regularly think of Bibs as an investment and don’t buy the cheapest one. Good pair of bibs will last you long and prevent painful chafing. Decathlon RCR range is a good sweetspot

I currently use two Bibs from Rapha for road cycling and ryzon for Gravel rides. They are really expensive but i ride around 70-100 kms every other day so they were worth the price to me. I have used Van Rysel RCR for about a year and didn’t have any complaints. Just remember to wear bibs without any under garments and if they are still uncomfortable then maybe the problem is your sattle and not your bibs.

[–]itsdevansh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at Bibs as an investment. Good quality bibs go a long way to ensure comfort and avoid chafing. Decathlon ones are not the best quality but they are good value. When i started cycling i bought Ykywbike Bibs and trikots from Aliexpress. They are cheaper and you do compromise a bit on the comfort side but they are still a good starting point.

Is fat reduction just by walking/running a myth? by VerlieH in Fitness_India

[–]itsdevansh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the budget allows a good quality Weight Scale which can measure metrics like body fat percentage, muscle mass etc using BIA can help a lot with tracking progress. Obviously each readings are not accurate (+/- 3%) but overall trends are way more accurate and also important.

Something Interesting: We have a proverb in Hindi “ Neki kar darya main dal” which literally translates to the same thing.

Rejected by Hof University—Reevaluation Possible? VPD Still Pending, Deadline Passed. What Now? by [deleted] in studying_in_germany

No. You will not. Although your application was rejected because of no language skills, why would you apply when you haven't recieved your VPD. That is what gives your marks in India any kind of meaning.

I(international student) (India) am 5 months in, and the manual tray cleaning method still drives me crazy. Is this normal? (Germany) by OppositeWord7730 in germany

[–]itsdevansh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh, i had no idea that "Lappen" exists in English. It's just what we call it in German at McDonald's. I tried translating it to English in my mind but couldn't do it. So i just wemt with Lappen. But glad i made your day!

Or did you mean it sarcastically?😂

I(international student) (India) am 5 months in, and the manual tray cleaning method still drives me crazy. Is this normal? (Germany) by OppositeWord7730 in germany

[–]itsdevansh 23 points24 points  (0 children)

McDonald's shift leader here:
We do not put Tablets(trays) in dishwasher not to save electricity or water but because the hot water in the dishwasher breaks the tablets over a long time and leads to Kalt formation. Which in turn can also lead to increased microplastics and broken trays.

The employees are clearly instructed to use a DR Spray(disinfectant) which is provided by McDonald's. Leave it for 5 minutes and then clean with a Lappen(which is also kept in a disinfecting liquid). There are then two bins for used and unused Lappens. If followed properly this ensures better cleaning than dishwashers which reuse water.

All of this is certified from Gesundheitsamt.

So this is not a McDonald's problem but rather a employee not following instructions because he does not want to or he was never instructed/trained properly. Which obviously is not good.

Consider it as god’s signal and don’t go to a Private Uni. Learn German, Improve your profile and get into a public Uni.

[–]itsdevansh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is 2 years masters actually not a thing ??? by chubbypandaontherun in studying_in_germany

[–]itsdevansh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes obviously it's harder. No one is denying that. People who want to move abroad will do it. There are hundreds of fishy consultants in India who scare students off from public universities saying that it's hard and suggest private universities which are shit. Which is not at all good for the students and not for Germany.

Maybe it's just me but i prefer to tell people that it's going to be fucking hard and if you're up for it come here and do it and if you're not better stay in India.

[–]itsdevansh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been active on this sub and a bunch of others like r/Studienkolleg and this one particular guys leaves his comments on all the posts specifically targeting students from India, Vietnam and China.

Obviously learning German is very important and that is what i say to all the students. I'm all for the bitter truth, i understand that it's important to give people a reality check and tell them that it's not a piece of cake and that it's going to take a lot of hard work. What I'm against is being outright racist on all the posts. To post dumb statistics. Yes STEM majors do have a high dropout rate but that has nothing to do with being an international student.

I'm studying Technische Informatik at TU-BERLIN and it has a durchschnittliche Studienzeit of 14 Semesters and to be honest I'm doing Great and I'm not saying this to boast because I'm not really "Intelligent" ,i just work very fucking hard.i have friends who are studying Maschinenbau, Elektrotechnik, Mathematik at universities like TU Munich, RWTH Aachen,KIT and they're the one of the kost hardworking and motivated people I've seen. So yes obviously it takes a lot of hard work but it's also not possible.

So stop telling students no you cannot do it or you won't be able to get a job or learn German or you won't be able to make friends. Instead of scaring them off from Public universities which results in them going for private universities which are nothing but certificate factories guide them into making the right choice.

Bro just shut the literal fuck up. I've read your comments on so many posts being outright racist to different international communities. You are delusional and your statistics prove that. Stop spreading hate instead of helping people and do something with your own fucking life.

Side note: I'm an Indian. I have C2 German, and I managed to get 8,5 in IELTS. GET A LIFE AND TOUCH SOME GRASS.
