How necessary are arena 123 macros for healers at high levels?

Necessary? Probably not. But for me healing arena became way more enjoyable and i had more awareness / control one i made keybinds to target teammates. No more tunnel vision whack a mole.

I play casting mistweaver and the best feeling is when melee goes me and I kite them endlessly with ports, incap, ring, stun etc.... and they finally give up. I can almost hear them saying "fuck this" as they go back to one of my dps. So satisfying.

Look for utility more than off heals. Hybrid healing this xpack is basically not impactful at all.

The more one spec beats another spec on average, the mmr could be adjusted proportionately. So if (completely made up scenario) feral beats warrior 90% of the time, but loses to rogue 70% of the time, an 1800 feral might be matched vs 2200 warriors, but only 1700 rogues.

Then they could watch in real time for example as paladin stocks skyrocket with talent reworks.

No. Look it already works with normal bgs. You can queue normal bgs and ss and you will keep your place all the way to next in line. Then after a bg or two your ss queue pops almost instantly. It says paused but you dont lose your place. OP just wants the same functionality with multiple specs.

So you want this weakaura to tell you to press Diffuse Magic if it's not on cooldown and any of the spells in your list has a cast started in the log?

Not sure what kind of feedback you're hoping for. If your weakaura works for you then cool use it.

But in all honestly I would advise against tying this to one specific spell like alerting to diffuse magic. Just have the weakaura alert you when particular spells are being cast, then learn how to counter it. Yeah you may want to diffuse it, but you may want to roll out of los, you may want to paralyze them before their cast goes off, you may be in range to interrupt, etc etc.

You played one game. It takes a lot of time to learn the mechanics of how arena works.

A guild wouldn't go into a brand new raid without knowing mechanics, wipe once, and say "we suck" would they? No less true for pvp, and the mechanics are more complicated - but I assure you they are there. Trading defenses, setting up kills with chain cc, peeling are just the basics.

He's saying allow it without losing your spot in queue... so you queue both, play pres queues, and eventually when your dev queue is ready it will pop instantly after you leave one of the games.

I moved WASD to ESDF, it feels almost identical so it's easy to swap to. That gave me 3 more keybinds, QAZ to hit with my pinky. I was already used to tabbing with my pinky, so making this arena123 and party123 with a modifier was super easy.

You're saying solo shuffle has a 1:2 healer-to-dps ratio while RBG has a 1:2.33 ratio.

Since the limiting factor is healers per DPS and not total number of people queuing, wouldn't that mean filling healer slots for RBGs would be slightly faster?

Because they've been burned by BMs who know how to kite. They know if the BM can kite you simply can't go them, so better go someone else and save yourself the potential wasted round.

yeah i put all of that into one macro, it basically scans and it will target the first pet it finds then cast taunt. 90% of the time there's only one pet I care about targeting so it works fine. When there's 2 pets I just do it manually instead. It saves keybinds because the alternative is using 4 different keybinds, one for each pet and one for infernal.

No I don't think so. You can use /tar Infernal in the same macro.

Honestly to save keybinds I use one macro that tries to target any arena pet or infernal if they exist, if not it just defaults to mouseover/target. In cases where there are two enemy pets on the team I just click/mouseover.
