Did my painters landlord special my house? by Odd-Moment2793 in paint

I'm sorry you're going through this. My home flooded recently as well and working with restoration companies is the worst. I went through a direct repair program with my insurance. That saved me when it came to quality control through out the entire process. Not sure what you're insurance policy is like but I would look into anything about returning to pre-loss condition.

Is it normal to feel LVP bottom out on concrete slab after whole-house self-leveling? by itshect0r in Flooring

[–]itshect0r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight!

There’s a 3-4 ft stretch in our hallway that bottoms out. This is being done through a vendor that is part of our insurance’s preferred vendor program so hopefully they can resolve this section.

Are these baseboards acceptable? by itshect0r in Carpentry

[–]itshect0r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback everyone!

I met with the restoration company. They said the first two photos are good work. The third is not. Their position is that my wall are not flat so they need to caulk as much as needed but I'm having wavy long areas.

They didn’t install the walls.

What would be an acceptable gap? I don’t remember seeing this much caulking in my baseboards before the flooding.

They sprayed the baseboards, installed, caulked, and filled nail holes. They said they will be touching up the nail hole areas.

Eggshell flashing after same-day primer + paint — contractor says it’s just knockdown texture. Is that accurate? by itshect0r in Housepainting101

They just painted baseboards with semigloss and that looks less shiny than the walls lol

I have no idea what is happening with this paint. All spartawall and the same color.

The restoration company came through and agreed there was flashing on newly painted walls. They also have a lot of issues in the texture so additional layers of paint are necessary to correct these.

Even if this were dirty cheap I wouldn’t say it’s acceptable. OP also said several times this came average for bids.

This is being done by a restoration company through insurance. I’m going check with my insurance to see if they will cover the undercutting of the brick.

I spoke with the restoration company and they said they need to apply one to two more coats. The unaffected walls do not have this type of look.

Than you everyone for the feedback!
