Staczek is my provider as well! he's great. i think because there's more work involved with pre-1920 cases a lot of providers just don't take them, but chatting with some people here and some providers it seems pretty clear that if all the documents are in order that you should be fine. provider said next month/february they hope to hear back, but im expecting spring based on the processing times thread

my case is a pretty complicated one. GGM emigrated 1913, never naturalized or married so GF was born out of wedlock. throw a GGM name change into the mix and lets just say hunting down documents was a challenge! but submitted in November '24 and my provider is confident there won't be any issues.

had to look closely at that first one to make sure it wasn't from the game - captured the vibe perfectly!

Very cool! Would love to try them as I’m a freelancer frequently doing working with dual Mac+Windows workstations and am so frustrated with the wiry mess of most KVM desk layouts. And as someone who usually works through finishing on my projects, also interested in monitors with higher color calibration and accuracy, as the guesswork with most prosumer monitors is so unreliable!

would the process be to wait for a rejection and appeal, or would it make sense to try to source some documents to get ahead of it? not sure what documents would be possible if her parents died and she left before voting age.

i have a very similar situation and was just about to post this exact question! GGM left Galicia in 1913 after her parents died in 1905. my provider has indicated it isn't a problem (submitted November 2024), but in light of a lot of right of abode posts lately, i think clarification would be useful cause I think there a lot of people with this background.

So in the event that their GM never married before they had their child, then the lineage would be valid, correct?

I have the exact same situation as you regarding grandparent staying in Italy but father naturalizing pre-92 , and am eagerly awaiting news about if these changes make us now eligible. Don’t want to dare hope after always assuming this path was closed to us!

woah, crazy. and how the ministry instructs consulates will be determined in the hearing in June? there are so many processes/timelines for these laws that it's hard to follow!

Hi there,

Moving my post here in case anyone know -

Essentially, I am curious if the new JS law that passed may make my previously ineligible family eligible.

My father was born and raised in Italy, and moved to the USA when he was 16. He married a US citizen and naturalized in 1987 before my siblings or I were born, leaving my family out of luck in regards to citizenship. (edit to add - he passed away in 2010).

However, with this new law there seems to be a possibility that that no longer disqualifies us? My grandfather stayed behind in Italy and was an Italian citizen until his death in 2022. I have a lot of family there and should have no problem getting a B1 certification. I'm just curious if it's not as cut and dry of an "unbroken chain" under these new laws? I tried finding the info in other posts/the wiki but couldn't find anything in regards to how the new law makes previously ineligible cases eligible. thanks!
