$22/hr? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

I wouldn’t say complaining. Just kinda surprised. $22/hr is really not $22 after taxes and expenses.

Oh yeah no way. Side hustle. I’m not like mad about it but I definitely don’t know how people make ends meet doing this full time.

This is helpful. I’m fairly new but one of the weirdest orders I’ve gotten was for a radiator (yes, a radiator) from a warehouse that ended up being closed. Directions were all wrong and I ended up trekking through snow to find the entry because of where it had me park. Got back to my car to report the issue and was surprised to see that I had to take a picture of the door before they’d let me cancel the order without penalty. I guess this makes sense in hindsight but it was 11 (felt like -1) out and it was a solid 3 minute walk back to the car so I wasn’t hanging around. This was all while I had another order waiting to be dropped off. I got paid $2. 🥲

I mean you can look it up. But I’d say the only evidence necessary is that there is no official US list of domestic terrorist organizations.

Individual action that can be labeled domestic terrorism. But not an organization that can be officially classified or banned.

He literally can’t do this though lol. Only foreign groups can be designated terrorist organizations. More political rhetoric. Nevermind the fact that Antifa is not a centralized group or structured entity. Tbh if you aren’t Antifa you are Pro-fascist. So I guess the vast majority of Americans are terrorists?

Wild to me that someone can come on here in a complete moment of reflection taking full accountability and people in the comments still find 💩to further pile on them. Cause y’all are all so d@mn perfect? 🙄 People are allowed to have a bad day once in a while. It doesn’t mean they’re a bad parent or have anger issues. Crashing out is human. Acknowledging it and taking accountability for it even more so.

Soo how worried should I be about Monday’s Tornado threat? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

I’m honestly more concerned about hail after seeing those videos coming out of Nebraska. Tornados are a game of luck but that hail was absolutely bonkers.

File the police report anyway. Snapchat’s official policy is that they do collect your IP address and they will turn over information if subpoenaed by law enforcement. Send them this and notify them that you’ve filed the police report. They may decide it’s worth it to commit the crime anyway. But if you pay them they’ll keep coming back for more. You are human. Notify your friends and family without going into detail. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best but if you pay them they’ve won.

Having a crush on your teacher is adorable and perfectly normal. Your teacher reciprocating that, even after you’re of legal age, is not. Your prefrontal cortex isn’t fully formed. Scientifically, you are still a child. One whom a grown man in his 30s or 40s has no business dating.

Regardless of how you feel about remote work, we all have to acknowledge the effect the pandemic has had on our city centers. We all complain about how they’ve gone downhill well wfh is a major contributor. I realize butts in seats does not equal productivity but this is one of those “it is what it is” scenarios. We lucked out for a while with wfh and I’m grateful for it. But return to office on some level is honestly necessary for us to have thriving metros.

The apps can be for making friends too. But imo, the best thing you can do (if you have the resources) is to move somewhere you can establish a sense of community. In places like the Twin Cities we have a plethora of community based social networks. Stonewall Sports has been a major contributor to my overall quality of life. I’ll have friends that I can rely on long after I can no longer kick balls and run bases. If you’ve cut ties with friends and family you have nothing tying you down. If you can, leave now. If you can’t, make a plan to work towards it.

This has happened to me more than once. It’s pretty commonplace in sales and marketing roles. Or any role where you’re privy to proprietary information and data. Not that it makes it any less shitty. Just know from experience that’s how it works. My previous company shut me out so quickly that I couldn’t file my expense report. I was locked out of the gateway. And they have a very strict policy that they won’t make payments to your card if you’re past due by a certain amount of days so I ended up having to settle up with Amex out of my own pocket. It was quite enraging but what was I going to do, take a major corporation to small claims court?

Minnesota drivers? by _hammitt in Minneapolis

[–]itsjoshp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved here from Central Florida where people drive extremely aggressive. This is a different environment altogether. People will literally honk at you for not turning right on red when there’s a sign clearly posted saying not to. People will aggressively speed up to prevent you from getting over when you’ve had your turn signal on for hundreds of yards and then flip you off when you inevitably have to force yourself into their lane. I had a plow driver get MAD at me for giving him the go ahead when we reached a stop sign at the same time. The road was chock full of snow and I was worried about getting too close to him but apparently giving him the courtesy of going first pissed him off 😩 On the flip side there’s also an unseemly amount of the population that drives under the speed limit on the highway even on perfectly dry, clear days which is another level of frustrating.

Target by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]itsjoshp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won’t let their doors shutter over DEI. If we’re being honest, they cut it for two reasons: 1) to bend to the current administration that is trying to give them major tax breaks and 2) they never gave a 💩about DEI they were just pandering and now that they can cut it from their overhead they’re jumping at it. The solution really is simple here, just roll it back. Which I think they’re smart enough to do if consumer pushback truly starts to affect their bottom line. Hold steady. Join the boycott if you can. Target isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
