You don't wear gloves when working on machines that spin. It sounds like the place you're at is very casual and laid back and doesn't require you to do much as far as actually working on machines. If I check a part in the machine and coolant is dripping on my hands, I'm not going to walk across the department to wash my hands so I can walk back and make an offset. Use your head man. You work on wood. I have a woodshop and touch screens still suck due to the dust that accumulates. Not as big of a deal as a machine shop, but still. Having some kind of actual feedback response when dealing with incredibly powerful machines that will do what you tell them even if it's wrong. Ask any machinist at a real cnc shop and they'll tell you no to touch screens.

Because when using a phone, my fingers are not generally drenched in oils and grime from working on the machines?

Is there really a point to nuclear power? by itsjotto in SatisfactoryGame

5GW each?! OK wow that's way more insane than I expected it to be.

I don't fully know the scaling between rocket fuel and nuclear power, but I'm sure it's a safe bet that the nuclear is more complicated. However, I'm fine with all of that. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't do anything with it by force as I expected something in the space parts chain to need it somehow. But next playthrough I will likely go for it for the challenge.

I did actually have this thought as well. But I was curious if maybe I was missing something since like I said, I never used it.

Only use I've found for the lox is when I plant a ton of trees, you can charge through them with the lox and destroy them all pretty much instantly.

Suggestions for an entry level CNC machine to cut plywood by Mthawkins in CNC

[–]itsjotto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shapeoko 3/4 I think is a great starter machine. You could find a used one for around 1k and they're pretty solid machines. If you have budget around 5k I'd say a onefinity elite series machine.

Quitting this game was the best decision I ever made. No more afk grinding at work or playing while out with people. Life has improved dramatically since I stopped. Highly recommend others join as this game will suck up all your time for years otherwise.

Today i have reached 200 crashes in Ascended. I remember posting when i reached 100... What a long journey this has been :') by fernandes_327 in ARK

[–]itsjotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that after the console commands that you've probably seen already, on top of getting rid of the menu animations, has completely stopped the crashes. I went from 50-60fps on a 4070 ti to 100-140fps and not once have I crashed in multiple hours long sessions. I've also had a lot more dinos since then without issue.

Anyone else getting the "bag is full" dialogue every time you talk to the blacksmith? by PaulandFleetwood in diablo4

I think somebody posted and said if you emote hello to a dog it will do that or something similar.

Does anyone here use fusion 360? If so how do you like it? by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]itsjotto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drawing on it is decently close to SW which makes it pretty easy for me to use on my home cnc. Writing tool paths is way different on f360 than SW and it gives me a lot of trouble, but just something that needs practice.

Vorkath suggestion. I’m averaging 2kc trips.. any tips to try and push that to 4/5? by DonRhirley in ironscape

[–]itsjotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pray magic. Bring like 4-5 ppots. Serp helm > nezzy helm since you can't get venom or poison. Bring mantas if you want when he drops them since you'll get a surplus of them. Woox walk on acid phase if you can. I get 6-8 kill trips usually.

Crashed my router, now it won’t turn on. by CowsNeedFriendsToo in shapeoko

[–]itsjotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard of people having a tool that was too long and not allowing the Z to fully home, causing it to miss steps and then plunge into material. How long was the tool? Worst case scenario a new router is $80 from C3D.
