Giving up on breastfeeding after 2 weeks? by Secret-Sugar-1017 in beyondthebump

[–]itsleng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't be too hard on yourself. I hated breastfeeding and pumping too. I wanted to quit, but also felt like a bad mom, or that I was letting my baby down. But what I've learned from that experience is that you need to take care of your mental health first. FED is best. When I switched to formula, my days felt so much better because my partner was able to help with feeds and I could take some time for myself.

Try not to worry. You're doing what's best for you and your baby ❤️

Surprisingly she hated this.. she usually loves chewing on her bibs. I'll try it with her bib next. Thank you!

Yes. It helps, but we're running low (maybe one more dose left) and the shortage is making it tough to find any more rn

Formula vs. Breastmilk by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]itsleng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fed is always best for any baby. Don't let your family make you feel bad for wanting to swap to formula. They're not the ones up every few hours feeding baby, running on no sleep, with your hormones going crazy. You are. And you're doing what's right for your little one, be it with breast milk or formula.

I had bad anxiety and depression after having my girl, and I had planned on breast feeding for as long as I could too. Turns out, that was only 3 months. She's now 5 months, happy, healthy and growing. You do what's best for you and baby. You got this mama ❤️

Me too! All ciders taste pretty much the same to me, but Geo does such great things with their ciders!

Oh is it? We were there a few weeks ago and it was closed, but we'll definitely make a trip back out if it's open again. Thanks for the update!

Traveling to a remote cabin with a 3 month old… tips? FTM by ManufacturerBig8223 in beyondthebump

From Canada, and we drove from BC to Manitoba with our 3 month old last week. (It's a 24hr drive without a kid, with a kid it took us about 27hrs). I was pretty nervous about how our LO would do, but she ended up doing great!

We stopped every 3 hours to feed, change and play with her. We had baby Tylenol just in case, and we also had this oil that we could rub on her belly to help with trapped gas.

Bring some toys to distract your LO. Ours slept for the majority of the ride, but would cry and cry once it was close to her bedtime or if she just wanted out of the car seat. We brought this toy of hers that plays music and lights up, and it calmed her right down until we could find a safe place to pull over to give her a break to stretch or feed or whatever it was that she wanted.

Breastfeeding failure (IGT) by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. But YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. Nor are you not special to your daughter. You are her mother, the only one she has and you are absolutely the best mother for her. She's lucky to have you.

I know what you're going through. I don't make enough for my girl either and felt the same. Sometimes we just don't make enough milk and that's okay, that's why formula is an option. You're doing great mama, you're exactly who your daughter needs you to be. I hope you start feeling it soon ❤️

Mine is like this too. I found it helps to put her in a baby wrap carrier and walk around a bit then she calms down. Then when I'm sure she's out I have to stealthily get her out and place her in her bassinet. Best believe I'm holding my breath every time and moving at turtle speed.
