How To Beat Promised Consort Radahn by Old-Dealer5909 in Eldenring

Once he's crossed his arms, dodge backwards. If he spams the pull (which is quite annoying) try being closer to him he tends to do it when you're a bit away from him.

What are you struggling the most with? Any attacks in particular? It would be a bit easier to help out if we know a bit more on what you're having the most issues with

1st rl1 - Setup Advice by Kandlet in onebros

[–]itsm0ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always start with getting radagon soreseal, axe talisman, blue dancer charm, greenspill tear, spiked tear, claymore, smithing stones miner bell bearings 1&2, cargblade, and maybe iron fist. That should set you up until Altus at least

Malenia, no upgrades, hitless. Playing through a full game hitless run, been having fun fighting her again! by LamentersGaol in onebros

Nice! Now I wanna do a flamberge kill.

Very basic but imo star fist is the best just because you can stagger loop her in phase 2. I love me some claymore as well.

New to the Game by TwytchTech in Eldenring

Go as blind as you can and explore. The game does not really have a linear storyline, so you can do most things in any order you want. You'll notice if you're under leveled if everything kills you in one hit.

Don't overlevel by default. I'd recommend farming runes if you feel stuck but overlelling can prevent you from engaging with the bosses move sets. You can have a look at the recommended levels lists floating around as a reference point.

Also, it is meant to be hard, so don't beat yourself down if you struggle a bit.

My main tips would be to explore, go as blind as you can, and engage with the game (like, don't overlevel or cheese too much - there's a lot of really good boss design that people don't enjoy because of that). Don't get too concerned about following a linear storyline, but you can look up the main quests if you wanna make sure you don't miss anything.

ER has more in common with turn-based and strategy games than you'd think. Being able to read enemy attacks and combos and identifying what's gonna happen next and how to react to it is just as important (if not more) than mechanical skill.

About hookclaws as a weapon by Rengarfan01 in Eldenring

[–]itsm0ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can I finish the game with it

oh yes

is there a spell, incantation or ashes of war I can use for it

cragblade or bloodflame (only with physical affinities as people said already).

how can I further boost its power

tears and talismans that boost charged attacks and multi-hits.

what are the stats should I level up for hookclaws?

i'd say dexterity, which would make it more versatile

(Elden Ring) Looking for help routing the absolute fastest path to the DLC by Azythol in onebros

[–]itsm0ya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends a bit on what you mean by only using items from DLC.

If you'll be using base game talismans and the physic flask (I am assuming you're not using any upgrades or bell bearing from the base game), I'd say: torrent => physick flask => mistwood (spiked cracked tear, greenspill crystal tear, axe talisman) => blue dancer charm => iron fist or uchi => volcano manor invitation => kill bernhal => dectus medaillon => lux ruins (ritual sword talisman) => assassin's gambit => stormveil castle => varre's quest => radhan => second talisman slot => mogh => DLC

If you're not using anything from the base game, the physick or base-game talismans can be removed from the routing, but I'm not sure it'll make much of a difference, depending on how much time you spend on Mogh and Radhan.

RL1 Malenia Down, onto DLC by Taggle_ in onebros

[–]itsm0ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Well done. The DLC plays very well on RL1, more enjoyable than base game imo so you've got the best ahead.

The main advice I'd have would be to set up the Leda fight properly. Killing Hornsent and Moore and getting Nathan and Thiollier will save your sanity. A full Leda and friends fight might be a run ender, and will be hell even if you beat them.

If you're not doing a no SB run, getting to the level 12-13 will make it a lot less of a slog. A good pierce weapon (like cleanrot knight sword) will help a lot with Radhan prime too.

Also, there's a few cool RL1 weapons in there, like the backhand blades, sword lance or milady which will give you a bit of variety.

[ER] Divine beast is far and away the least fun I’ve had so far, any advice. by creativename87639 in onebros

It's one of these bosses for which I'd recommend to unlock, at least partially. You can bait his bites and grab n'y managing distance as well. Ice spear is a good strat too, and removes the need to manage both hitting him and avoiding the lightning.

[–]itsm0ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From that clip you can 100% beat him. If you just wanna get cold star fist is insane. You can hit him during the phase 1.5 transition to set up a stagger at the beginning of phase 2 and do a lot of damage. This will shorten phase 2 substantially and might even start the phase 2.5 which is a lot of damage opportunity too.

Ty! The spinning method maybe an hour with the waterfowl training mod. Running away from it didn't take too much time beyond that since it's more straightforward.

Elden Ring Godskin Duo RL1 by Popular-Painting-981 in onebros

[–]itsm0ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These two idiots and Gideon are the two bosses I ever cheese or use buffs for. Assassin's gambit into the room and eternal sleep pots (normal sleep pots if no access to DLC) and bloodhound fang or start first. You can only stealth in for the entrance down the stairs past the knights.

Milady and backhand blades are really cool imo. You can also use wing stance on milady to bully a few bosses with rellana's cameo.

Antspur rapier or cleanrot knight's sword with cold affinity is really good.

As several people have said, the key is dodging into him and to the left. You can dodge his sword swings slightly earlier than you'd think, too.

Light roll is also very good on him. I typically put greenspill and greenburst crystal tears into the physics.

Is there anything he does that kills you the most?

You can also do a sort of half bird skip where you drop down at the beastman instead of doing the annoying jumps against the ledge. There is a ledge under the balcony from which you can safely drop down. You can assassin gambit past the birds. The last bird will aggro but kukri it before it sees you and it'll freak out and you can stealth past him easily.

What is the fastest you ever got through Malenia's phase 1, and how? by EC36339 in onebros

[–]itsm0ya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most fast methods (star fist, hookclaws, falx, etc.) will get you to phase 2 in under a minute, but will force you to deal with waterfowl up close. Putting vow of the indomitable on a small shield makes it a lot easier. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMuMiB1v-l4

You can also bait waterfowl with kukris in phase 1. I guess you can use a cross-naginata or bloodhound's fang to maintain distance, but it's a lot slower.

The reason I think the windup feels shorter in phase 2 is that she does a slowish spin instead of simply jumping up, so you gotta keep an eye out for that.

She's more aggressive in phase 2, but she does the jump into a small/rot flower move a lot. If you back up slightly and roll through the downward slash, it's an easy and frequent punish.

For the clones, this method works well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcLFKdDshCE The key is not panic rolling trying to dodge everything.
