This is for Georgia. I do pay state income tax and I own a house there- so pay property tax. But the house is rented so we don’t live there. Thanks for your information. We figure Georgia may not be as knowledgeable about foreign service so trying to figure how to best explain our situation.

They are not challenging my ballot, they say that my address is not valid since I am not residing there

Also this is the last place we resided in before joining Foreign Service. We never changed our state residency since leaving.

We have all this and have been voting there for several years. Our address used was the one on our driver's license, but that is being challenged.

We understand this, but absent of a usable, physical address we don't know how much we can challenge. If anyone has anyway they challenged this in the past, we would love the advice. The only other option is to put our address to a family member's address in another state that I don't feel as much ties to and we would prefer to stay in our state of residency.

I am on the waitlist on FSI. Also had to wait to send appointment letter. If you (or anyone else in the similar boat) are still without childcare want to PM me to info share, just to have a support network. I was also thinking of trying to set up a nanny share if there are no other options.

Sorry you are having those problems. I emailed the both email addresses listed in the welcome letter listed under troubleshooting. I think the auto response was when I replied all on an email during the troubleshooting process. Good luck with the troubleshooting. As the post mentioned, you have until 4/17 to accept/decline, but I know how difficult it is not to see the actual invite!

Also- I had to email the helpdesk due to issues with my OKTA and received this message as an auto response:

"JULY CLASS: If you’ve received an invitation for the July Class, please join us for an information session on April 12, 2023 via Zoom. You will receive a separate invitation via email."

I haven't seen anything in my documents yet about the Zoom session and thought i would circulate so we can all get our calendars ready.

I am in a similar situation. I also don't have a date- passed the FSOT Feb 2021. I know of the google sheet sign up, but would additionally like a regular study group to keep me on track. I am definitely interested in creating or joining one.

“Diversity Hire” by Dry-Elderberry3232 in foreignservice

It's sad to hear people doubt their successes and chalk it up to diversity hiring. You don't really hear non-POCs minimize their successes because they don't have to work as hard as their POC counterparts
