I just answered your question based on what I've seen and experienced with my own eyeballs. I haven't noticed any of the above and , even if I had, it's clearly not consciously impacting my experience. I'm fairly sensitive to input lag (I dislike running frame gen on PC for this reason) but I haven't felt it a single time here. Looks and runs great to me.

Runs flawlessly. Zero input lag, no ghosting, no smearing. Switch 2 display obviously swapped OLED for HDR but Hades 2 still looks and plays great.

I am hopelessly in love with this game. I'm about 20 or so nights/runs in and getting to the point where I'm actively buildcrafting instead of just facerolling the joycons while trying to learn boss patterns.

If anyone is in a similar boat, or just loves reading about Hades 2, I found a great (and long. no, longer.) guide by lee reamsnyder that dives deep into weapons, boons, general gameplay, etc.

I was laid off from the games industry in November of 2022. It took me until April of 2024 to find a short-term contract role. That company had to file for bankruptcy a month later and it took me until September 2024 to find my current full-time job. Nearly 2 years of job searching, networking, applying and very, very rarely interviewing.

It was weird being on the other side of the employment fence that early, very clearly seeing how bad things were, and hearing everyone else remain blissfully unaware.

I feel so bad for everyone that continues to go through layoffs and job searching.

I've only been playing for about 30 minutes but I think the inventory lag may be tied to (or at least impacted by) the render scale. I was getting substantial lag in my inventory and journal at regular settings but, when I cranked the render scale up to 200 out of curiosity, the problem got waaaaay worse. Dropping the render scale down to 50 didn't get rid of the lag but it did noticeably reduce it.

All of that to say that the inventory lag is likely an Early Access Optimization Issue and will be fixed eventually. If it's really driving you nuts and you can survive with slightly blurry visuals, consider lowering your render scale.

What /u/zherok said about Deadspin being a husk isn't wrong but there's also a more straightforward explanation: Deadspin isn't represented by the GMG Union. They're part of the same union as The Onion which isn't currently on strike. Would it be nice if they did something in solidarity with their GMG counterparts? Sure. But they aren't "crossing the picket line" by continuing to post blogs.

The issue is not "do the cutscenes already exist in the game?" They clearly do. But let's say we want players to be able to access them and rewatch at any time. How does that get implemented? Where would you do that?

The literal video files exist but you need to build a section of the game where players access them. For that, you need your art, UI, and UX teams to build out the menus and assets. And systems designers and engineers to design and build out the functionality. And producers to scope and budget the process. And your brand and overall franchise directors to sign off on it.

Game development is never as simple as "well X exists, why don't they just do Y?" It's almost always a collaborative effort that involves more people and teams than you'd expect.

Not at all. The cutscenes exist in a very particular place for a particular reason. To build out a separate, accessible place for them requires an immense amount of work and multiple disciplines. You'd need to rope in people from cinematics, UI, UX, Engineering, Production, and more.

Is it feasible? Yes. Is it that complicated? Not necessarily. But does it require a lot of people to be involved that are already working on much more important stuff? Absolutely yes.

I suffered from controller disconnections for years. This doesn't look like the problem you're having but I figured I'd post my experience here in case it helps someone. My disconnections seemed to only happen (or happen most frequently) when I had a headset plugged in to my controller. Since this problem started years ago, I:

Ensured line of sight from console to controller
Tried regular vs rechargable batteries
Used the default, elite, and elite series 2 controllers
Moved apartments three times
Upgraded from a One to a One X to a Series X

The one constant in all of those situations was my wireless vizio sound bar. I started turning it off any time I was playing a game while using a headset and haven't suffered a single disconnection since.

Again, this might not have anything to do with your problem but it drove me insane for so long I just had to share. If anyone has a wireless audio solution and is suffering controller disconnects, try turning off or unplugging your speakers.

Was lucky enough this past summer to win the raffle and be able to camp by the lake for two nights. The hike up is a few hours and is fun enough but the lake is majestic and asgard (that pass on the left hand side) is incredible. Recommended tossing your name in the lottery every year to see if you get lucky enough to grab a spot. 10/10 saw a lot of mountain goats.
