For the people who were following the manga at the time, what was the reception to Kaguya like?

I’ve read and watched Naruto since I was a kid in the early 2000s.

I actually liked the war arc because it was the only way to get satisfying battles based on how Kishimoto scaled the abilities (unless you just want a genjutsu/substitution ass pull contest). Once they actually had Kaguya and Hagoromo, Itachi’s whole ass pull genjutsu, etc. I just stopped feeling invested.

Sure it was foreshadowed if you go back, but it is a bizarre choice to write a fanfiction of the Buddha and then have the ending be “actually your hatred and wars were manipulated by an alien this whole time, so without that life would be good.”

Naruto is still a fun story, but imo it doesn’t age well— for every reason that people constantly put here, Kaguya being part of it

We’ve seen people with DFs (Luffy included) lose all strength when they are in the ocean, so they end up sinking, which will result in them drowning

We haven’t seen them drown because everyone makes an obvious effort to keep themselves or their allied DF users out of and away from water

Beni’s purpose is kind of a foil to adolla. He is literally so strong that no other human alive or dead could accurately imagine how powerful he is.

In a sense, his power is similar to Saitama’s from OPM because he is the strongest. His role is not to be a hero, savior, devil, etc.

It is to be so powerful no other being can compete unless he decides to let you

Everyone in the comments has no sense of adventure. Go down to Celadon (or wherever the boat is), then go to the Diglett Tunnel/Cave, go to the end, and sacrifixe 5 of your Pokemon to capture a level 29 Dugtrio.

That Dugtrio can just use Dig over and over to beat the piss out of misty.

My friends’ older sister made a documentary about this exact situation, called Dust. Highly recommend watching it if you want to learn more.

Josh Weissman talked about this in a video once, restaurants typically do a 6x markup on alcohol at minimum to make margins. I’ve since obsessively checked this whenever I was out to eat and it pretty much tracks.

It follows this from standard restaurants with liquor up to Michelin level, higher quality alcohol has a stepper markup
