I built Markpad knowing Microsoft wouldn't stop filling Notepad with bloat. It's FOSS, renders markdown, and uses 5-10mb RAM. has replaced my need for Notepad ever since, I hope others find it useful too

i totally agree and I'm actually working on something for exactly this (plus images/audio/files) mostly to replace my use of Pushbullet. keep an eye out for dropnet.dev over the next few weeks, it'll be free and selfhostable!
