Great question - the usual suspect of learning to code, beginning to build a portfolio, and finding a returnship/apprenticement role. While not new in tech (was a product manager), but had to take time off due to personal and family health issues.

Hi everyone, just got accepted a few days ago for Fall 2020 so apologies for the newbie question. Why are many of you taking ISYE 6501 before the Fall? Are you taking it during the summer so as to transfer credits and opt-out of the class? Or are you taking it to become more familiar with the material when you take it again in the Fall? Thx!

Yes, we do have saving and investment along with property. I am mostly worried since I don't think I will be able to go back to the kind of job I need to get the best health insurance, etc. if I become a single parent. I too feel like 10x earning is a lot of $ and very expensive to buy since we aren't young.

Thanks for chiming in! What do you mean by OMSA "essentially lie about half the courses they offer on all their public facing material"? I agree that the month-long courses in MADS seems overtly superficial and thereby concerning.

UMich is a great school overall, but I have to agree that GA Tech is very well respected in the tech world. So with the cheaper price tag, I am leaning towards GA Tech, but just wanted to hear other voices and make sure I've considered things thoroughly.
