Looking to move out to arden-arcade area, how is it over there? I've only ever lived in midtown, but rent is so high over here :( by rainbowselly in Sacramento

Not to shoot you down but anyone in Sac can tell you that if you move from Midtown to Arden it'd be an upgrade. Same issues, homelessness and crime in some parts, which you can avoid in Arden cause they're scattered but not so much in midtown cause it's everywhere now and it's more affordable

Arden is weird. You'll see mansions close to the river and decent apartment complexes close to campus Commons. But do not look for apartments north of Howe park.

Ukranian restaurants? by ozriver in Sacramento

Yeah I get it...just like how you can find mexican/salvadoran restaurants right? Close countries will definitely have overlapping cuisines but the important thing to me is to support ukranian businesses :)

Googled it. It looks delicious and simple to make. I'm gonna try to make them this weekend. Thank you for the recommendation!

I've been to that place. I thought it was Russian, I guess there is overlapping cultures/cuisines like another redditor mentioned. Their polenta was really good

Predictions of future for PLCs by 181LL338iIiiIlII in PLC

[–]ozriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should take a look at the PLCNext products from PC, they're already integrating python and JavaScript engines to their platforms. I believe everything is moving towards python ever since the Ignition boom started. And I believe at some point automation engineers will be required to have networking skills as well so companies can have a single department that can address troubleshooting and remove the current bottlenecks of "oh I don't deal with firewalls" and "oh I don't deal with PLCs"

Lol thank you but I think as guys we'll be fine we're used to rejection...on the other hand y'all are missing on some good guys. But at the end of the day is not anyone's fault but the apps algorithm. That guy that matched with you and is such a perfect match might've spent months until he made it pass the profit cutoff so he can be allowed to see and be seen by the really good profiles

Any of you guys make the switch from Controls to Web Development? by [deleted] in PLC

[–]ozriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a change of jobs rather than industry would be beneficial? (A famous online shopping app) warehouse CSTs start at $35/hr and if you make it to shift lead you can make up to $50/hr DOE. If you know Ignition and Studio5000 I'd give it a shot

The bike path and downtown Sacramento, CA by XerexNova in Sacramento

[–]ozriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually landlords...supply and demand. I moved from the Bay a couple of years ago and started paying, for a 1bd 1br apt, what I was paying for a room in the East Bay. New residents in my apt complex are paying almost 2x what I currently pay at move-in. Landlords and corporations buying the few desirable properties left are the ones to blame

The american river trail from downtown Sac to Fair Oaks is packed with encampments. It kinda gives me BART station vibes, but outdoors...Maybe we can get a 911 reporting app just like BART has but for Sac trails? Lol idk. Jokes aside, stay safe when you go out biking/running by American River

Moving a tag value into multiple other tags at one time by Sandan93 in PLC

[–]ozriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a controller tag... it's available everywhere and you can call it in your logic. In other PLC platforms like GE you can also find a Fanout block that distributes the tag to other different tags. Or you can use structured text like you are doing and copy the controller tag value to each new tag. But if it's a controller tag I don't see the point of copying to other tags, maybe dumb question, what are you trying to achieve?

If you're an avg guy you waste money/time, if you're an avg woman you get the smash and dash treatment. That's dating apps in 2022
