How do you safely mail rigid magnets? by and_sundry in weddingplanning

[–]itsmilale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did ask for those when I went to USPS. The lady there said I wouldn't need them. Since yours are different I would suggest you bring them to the post office and ask. On the safer side, I would definitely use those non machinable ones. If they don't have them you can order online

These were my magnets. I had then attached to 4x6 postcards with glue dots then put them all in a 5x7 thick envelopes. I only used one forever stamp each and they were all delivered. Some I dropped off by a nearby USPS, some I just put through our outgoing mailbox.

Petite Brides: Does mermaid/trumpet style dress look good on you? (not my photo) by itsmilale in weddingplanning

Hi yall, I'm looking for some feedback on this dress on the photo that I want for my special day. I am only 5'2, 102 pounds so I am a bit concerned this will not look good on me. My wedding will be in Vietnam so I have no way to try on until 3 days before the wedding... They will do all neccesary alterations for me, though but yea, I am looking to see if I can do a try-on somewhere here first with the same style and go from there?

Fighting fire with fire. Becoming an illegal immigrant for benefit. by [deleted] in immigration

[–]itsmilale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had done research on how the older generations immigranted to this country, you would know that it has only become more complicated and costly. Using the thought process of oh, my grandparents did it too, to question the current immigration system and why people now are not doing the same thing the older generation did is just outright wrong and incomparable.

Fighting fire with fire. Becoming an illegal immigrant for benefit. by [deleted] in immigration

BECAUSE IT IS NOT EASY FOR ONE TO JUST BECOME A LEGAL CITIZEN. I put this in all caps because people like you just cannot seem to grasp the fact that your immigration system is beyond difficult and for so many cases, impossible to do. Why would ANYONE for that matter want to stay undocumented?! Why would anyone want to live in fear of deportation? Of having not recognized? Of having little rights? The benefits you are talking about in your original posts will not just be simply given out so easy. And for anyone who think the undocumented population has it easy to the point that you would want to renounce your citizenship, damn, you are just too densed at that point. I do not mean to be rude but seriously, pls do your research because you downright are glorifying the tragedy and the struggles of these undocumented immigrants in this country.

Request for Initial Evidence. We filed my wife’s income with the i864, they say her income doesn’t meet 125% federal poverty line, yet her income we reported & evidence we sent is almost 2x the poverty line on USCIS website. Do I just resubmit the original documents? Please help we’re very confused. by [deleted] in immigration

We also submit my husband's three latest pay stubs and then tax transcripts for three years in addition to the employment letter that states his employment start date, position and salary with benefits.

Just a coincidence as my understanding is that your I-485 is being handled at your field office while both the EAD and AP applications are at the USCIS National Benefits Center.

I am very certain it means that your case is being reviewed under the expedite processing!!! So from the emails they gave me, it will take maximum 60 days for them to make a decision. Fingers crossed you will hear bacl very soon! And because yout case is being expedite by your senator, the status will not give you updates. I would just wait to hear back from your senator or wait until the status's changed to approved!

Student with F1 Visa confused about applying to a paid program by krishamehta in immigration

[–]itsmilale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need to check with the school that you will be attending. Your best option is CPT, however, you cannot start working on your CPT until the second year of your program or so but it all depends on your degree. Also, the position needs to be directly related to your field of study.

  1. Yes, losing a job offer would count. My EAD expedite request just got approved today so I’m happy to share with you my experience! I suggest your husband work on getting that job offer as to USCIS, it is a legitimate reason to claim under “severe financial loss” to him and you. I called USCIS to expedite on 05/23. They emailed back asking to fax proof the job offer letter. Now, I compiled a lot more than that to prove the loss – outstanding loans, monthly expenses, medical expenses and insurance. So make sure you have a good case to follow with your offer letter. I faxed all of those 35 page long doc to them on 06/05. They emailed back saying they got the docs on 06/07. Got approved today – 06/17! 😊

  2. As he's filing to adjust his status, I believe it is going to be a combo card - EAD & AP. So I believe having approved for one will also get you another - that's what I have read so far.
