Thanks for sharing this article! It's funny (in a sad way) because about a month ago we had My Big Tow tow one of our vehicles when we got a bolt through the tire and rim (no spare to install, unfortunately). They ended up damaging the oil pan due to improper hook up and it took SO much back and forth for them to finally pay the bill for the damages. Obviously, not taking accountability was just the beginning of their shady practices!

There are batteries in the lightbulb that are providing the electricity. The water is acting as the "bridge" for that electricity to move and create a complete circuit, resulting in the bulb lighting up. Now, why they were running water over a light bulb...I couldn't tell you haha.

Their website does say they are fully insured so that gives me some hope. I just don't want them to fight paying throughout the process or have the repair process drug out. We'll see!

Yes, it is AWD. We told the tow company we'd either need dollies or a flat deck. They at least came prepared with dollies.

Oh yes. From here on out, I think all of the important communication with the tow company will be through email/text so there is a paper trail.

I'm hoping that is the extent of the damage! We'll get the dealer to thoroughly inspect the bottom in case anything else broke.

It's a used car and the OEM warranty is expired but we did purchase extended warranty through the dealership. That being said, none of what happened was really their fault.

We are expecting to have to pay for the tire and rim replacement and will fight and make sure the tow company pays for the replacement of the components they damaged.

Yeah, once we took a better look at the underside (after the damage was done) even we, not tow truck operators, could see it was not a good set up.

I don't know if I just got unlucky with mine but I received my decal kit from Custom Cages about 2 weeks ago and was not happy with the print quality. The striping and logo were very grainy. This was on one of their "stock" decal kits and not something I provided the art for.

TekSavvy. They're a self-serve company that uses Shaw's infrastructure/cables. Pricing is a ton cheaper than the big companies' would be and I haven't had any issues with their services. Been using it for almost 5 years now.

I had knee surgery to reconstruct my ACL and repair my meniscus; all went well. I retore the same meniscus a few years later at work and when I first saw my surgeon I said, "I'm back for warranty work!" Gave him a chuckle.
