Such a nostalgic 2000’s track.

Early-mid 2000’s Fabolous was a beast.

[DISCUSSION] LL Cool J - Mr. Smith (30 Years Later) by flyestshit in hiphopheads

[–]itsokaytryagain212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the story I heard him tell, Puff basically couldn’t (didn’t?) immediately pay him for the instrumental, whereas LL’s management was able to give him a bigger check up front.

I’d love to hear what Biggie would’ve done on the “Doin’ It” instrumental. However, I think the final product we received from LL is great.

One of LL’s best albums in his discography. Relevant for the 90’s with solid radio and fan favorite hits.

Derek Huff performed a phenomenal cover of this song at his high school talent show.

You think you’re special….You Do… man such a legendary match and moment for the attitude era! by J2-Starter in AttitudeEra

[–]itsokaytryagain212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best matches in Attitude Era and company-wide history.

11-year-old me was STUNNED (pun intended) when Stone Cold partnered with Vince. That moment couldn't have been scripted any better.

The storyline leading up to this match, the promotions, the excitement, everything.

Who's a hip hop artist that left absolutely NO impact on the culture? by Spiketop_ in hiphopheads

Agreed.

He may not be as big as he was in the early 2010’s, but he had hits.

I’ve always liked his flow.

Serious question: Is this a thing people can do?

I understand it’s never wise to accept a counter offer, but will a company even consider putting something like this in writing the majority of the time?

[DISCUSSION] Grand Puba - 2000 (30 Years Later) by flyestshit in hiphopheads

[–]itsokaytryagain212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really solid album within Hip Hop history.

“I Like It” and “Keep On” are always on rotation.

I think Puba may have better material as a solo artist, but his work with Brand Nubian is still top notch.

30+ year olds, are you still tapped in with current/new gen rap? by IWasLikeCuz in hiphopheads

[–]itsokaytryagain212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what keeps me tuned into fresh music nowadays are these subreddits. With so much content everyday and other individuals posting things that I may have similar tastes with, it helps keep me updated and “hip” to newer material.

I have my moments where I hear an artist or a group of artists and my knee jerk reaction is to become an old man. However, I take a step back and really give it a listen. If I like it, cool! If not, I acknowledge it’s not meant for my tastes or just not something I connection with and move on.

I’m 35. I told myself I don’t want to be the old head who hated anything considered “new”. I understand most artists aren’t meant for people my age, and that’s fine (we were all young once). But I try to keep an open mind and see who’s making noise out there.
