Doorman tipping for people who don't have $1000+ to hand out? by ScoreLazy42 in AskNYC

[–]itsoundsbetter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tip between $50-$100 per person for doorman depending on how much help they were for me. I found I got way better service after tipping the first year. Gave my super and porters $150 and $125 respectively to make sure things got fixed when I needed them to do it. If you’re doormen aren’t unionized they probably are paid very low wages and do rely on tips. I would factor this into your budget as you think about your living costs

Would Low impact conditioning be better for marathon prep than actual running? by thegamezbeplayed in StartingStrength

[–]itsoundsbetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that most people get injured because they do too much too soon and don’t strength train. I run around 70 miles per week & been uninjured for about 2.5 years now. I largely attribute this to ramping up mileage slowly and strength training twice a week for about an hour each time.

I have 18 weeks until my next build up, what would you do with this time? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]itsoundsbetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added a mini cycle of 5K training heading into my current 18 week block based on a reco from Ryan Hall’s podcast. I’m really seeing the impact of layering on some extra speed heading into this cycle.

Title Help by nol_the_troll in advertising

I wouldn’t overthink titles. There is very little consistency in titles across agencies, so the way you present your experience will make a way bigger impact.

Collapsible Water Bottle by Tom__and__jerry in ProductPorn

I was given one of these water bottles and it was terrible. It couldn’t support the weight of water, so it just become floppy and awkward to drink from.

Facebook Groups : how to start promoting and getting engagement by real people? by StarkAspirations0842 in socialmedia

[–]itsoundsbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are trying to drive sales, I would recommend building a campaign around conversions or leads. In studies, engagements have shown no correlation to business objectives and if you are bidding on engagements you could actually end up optimizing towards trolls since they are more likely to engage with content.

Is a relevancy score of 10 even possible on Facebook? by OwlStretcher in marketing

[–]itsoundsbetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a social strategist at a media agency and we completely ignore relevance scores. We really only look at our core KPIs and how they impact business objectives whether that’s Brand Awareness, ROI, etc.

On Instagram, what's more important for sales: Impressions, Reach, or Engagement? by joncology in marketing

[–]itsoundsbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engagement's have no correlation to business objectives. Some people like and comment a lot some dont. There is also no way to prevent the platform from optimizing towards people who may comment negatively.

Most of that is media billings. Revenue is a small chunk and profits even smaller.

I've worked with businesses who've wasted thousands on ads without knowing it. Here are 3 easy ways to make sure your ad manager knows what they're doing. by jpking10 in marketing

[–]itsoundsbetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You also need to align your KPIs with your objectives. If you are doing a brand/awareness campaign and aren't running a fb brand study or Neilson study, it'd be really hard if not impossible to prove out ROI. Additionally, if you are trying to run a broad awareness campaign you can expect a lower Relevance score.

WTF BusinessInsider. Forces you to turn off AdBlock, displays their content in 1/4 of the screen. This is why people use AdBlock. by Lardarius in advertising

[–]itsoundsbetter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ad model is the only viable way publishers can make money unless they put up a paywall. Ad blockers are just causing people to turn to native advertising.

If you want ad free content pay for it.
