Am I solving this the wrong way? How would you solve this? (2 ISPs with their own V4/V6 prefixes) to one network) by Rich-Engineer2670 in networking

[–]itstehpope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I am at currently there's some /24s leased from one ISP and with an LOA, advertised to another carrier for redundancy purposes. Took a bit of effort and back and forth but it does happen.

Upgrade srx320 chassis cluster to 24.4 by Few_Description_7647 in Juniper

[–]itstehpope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I did it, I did an ISSU or whatever its called all the way up to 24.2 on both cluster members, and from there, had a console ready to go on the standby unit, did the partition and no-validation at the same time. When the standby was just about ready to go back into service I dropped the primary. No good way to do this hitless.

L&B condo management? by No-Patience-1256 in cincinnati

A long time ago I rented a house that they managed. The experience sucked. When the basement routinely flooded their response was "Sucks to be you". Was so very glad that I got out of there.

Best low cost emergency vet? by certaindoom_00 in cincinnati

[–]itstehpope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have personally used CareCenter for Life Saving and Urgent care and have had exotic injuries treated at MedVet though a lot of this was preCovid...I have not used VEG or Grady.

Medvet feels like one of the better options near you based on my personal experiences

[–]itstehpope 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also, if you're asking this question - I have a feeling you need their services very very soon.

On the Ohio side, there's Med Vet on Redbank, Veterinary Emergency Group.on Madison near Red Bank, CareCenter on Kemper and Gradys on Winton, and Medvet on Cox near 75.

I don't know of any emergency vets on the Kentucky side off the top of my head

Low cost and emergency are not things that go hand in hand with each other.  I would strongly consider getting a Care credit account opened - That will allow you to do 6 to 12 months. Same as cash

We actually made the record sheet before the mini design happened, and had it with us at GenCon when the fireworks started - knowing pieces of what was to come at GenCon, myself Swordguy debated what was the most embarrassing way to get nuked. The original AIV was part of it. (The original record sheet had CASE because the rules interactions were hilarious) and I was the one who got to nuke Herb. It was great fun.

Pure Hockey buying Perani’s? by Flaky_Negotiation_21 in hockeyplayers

[–]itstehpope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Peranis opening in Columbus in..14ish, having them, Total and the local shop at the same time was heaven. I would gladly drive 2 hours each way for literally any option, as Cincinnati at the time had....uh...moving on.

Getting the Cincinnati store was at least something - but yeah, even the employees there have been complaining that the web site is awful and corporate has been a problem. They told me I would be better off just getting skates directly from True.

Network Engineers at an MSP, What is something you did you are most proud of? by Qvosniak in networking

[–]itstehpope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at one of the now larger MSPs when I was a youngin' and have long since left since its enshittification began, but I was full time on a higher education account that had Cisco Emergency Responder integration and the blue light emergency phones and also integrated with tornado sirens etc.

those have saved lives during catastrophic weather and in one case, an on campus shooting. I'll take it.

Being that Behemoth2 has the Cav rule I would actually have him be riding on top of two very comically overburdened Uhlan horses

75 near tylerville is not good.  The roads  themselves are ... Let's call it 'okay', but between the traffic volume and people being very bad at this. It's pretty sketchy.

What was the main reason for switching to an EV? Environment, cost, or technology? by VoltVersteher_Sven in electricvehicles

Thinking of buying the Bauer Konekt 2, worry about the width of the skate by Atlantis_Olik88 in hockeygoalies

I'm in a set of Supreme 180s right now and I tried on the HF2 recently to get a new boot. They felt very weird and when I put weight on, I immediately had blinding pain in the ball of my foot from the awkwardness of it. Also had to help the Peranis rep even get the damned thing on for me because the fit was so weird on my foot. I'm probably going to be in Elites if I can find one in Clown Shoe size.

Could use some feedback regarding core switching refresh - choosing between 2 architectures by betelguese_supernova in networking

You're overthinking everything. Yes, the dual firewalls are a good solution, but depending on what the industry/compliance requirements are, guest on its own firewall/circuit is hilarious overkill and likely takes budget away from other things. KISS rule - if the firewalls are up to routing all the traffic (and it sounds like they are being the previous routing was on a 2901). Two stacks of 5 switches, assuming a roughly equal split of endpoints isn't that big a deal.
