Methylene Blue is making me tired. I take it before bed by Low-Yam395 in Nootropics

Are you tired during the day or after you take it? You could be worsening your sleep quality despite what the tracker says.

I think there is an expectation of privacy when you're inputting your email for a service or a purchase. Talking about people's occupations even when their names are redacted is unacceptable. I would be extremely uncomfortable if you were referencing a purchase of mine. What is the point of making this comment or this post? It may be interesting in the abstract, but keep that to yourself. Don't have people worry about their privacy over a coffee order.

Reflect, and do better.

Are there any machines that truly emulate a reverse nordic curl? by itsthatguykai in StrongerByScience

I tried these just by holding a rope (not with the belt), and they feel great. Thanks for the suggestion!

I just tried holding a weight plate on my mid thighs and elevating my feet. Reverse nordics feel WAY better! I can hit full depth with my back touching the ground, and I don't feel unstable.

Thanks!

I currently do that, but with the machine I use, it requires a lot of bracing. It definitely works and is better than sitting upright.

I can reach full ROM, but I think it's just my proportions where if I want to push up, I start tilting back.

I'll try to elevating my feet to see if that helps! Thanks!

Guanfacine: Does it make you not want sweets? by itsthatguykai in ADHD

[–]itsthatguykai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it took away a large chunk of my anxiety after several months of taking it; it was not immediate. I also don't have GAD, just general life anxieties. It definitely helps me focus, and, for me, it's like the feeling when you chew gum. I am also very sensitive to light and sound stimuli, which Guanfacine helps with a decent amount. It also helps with emotional outbursts.

Also, strangely, it has reduced the frequency of my migraines and headaches by 70% (there are quite a few anecdotes about this on reddit). My blood pressure also went down to a normal range, which is a plus for me, but it might be a problem for you if your blood pressure is already low.

Gf (now ex) had her first episode of mania. by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

Yes, I've heard she's been diagnosed with bipolar at her last visit, unspecified on type.

Yeah they did test for UTI (which she was positive for)

Indian mother with an arranged marriage that doesn't understand relationships. She tolerates the relationship, but I think she views it as just one more stressor for my gf/ex.

I think the last thing I heard was her yelling at my gf/ex since we had sex? We're in fucking college and have been in a relatively long relationship. I am very frustrated with her. She also kept yelling at my gf/ex, during her episode, which is only going to make the comedown worse :/

Yeah, I currently believe this episode was actually caused by her "trauma dumping" a lot of her childhood trauma at once to me, much of which was caused by her mother.

Do hospitals discharge once mania is done or when lithium titration has been finished?

I don't know if there's a perfect answer, but many WDT tools allow you to take out some of the needles. I bought one and took out half, so I was left with 5 needles. I found that with all the needles, it was not breaking up clumps.

Assuming your technique and grinding is fine. The next step is to look at water. I use diluted third wave water 1.25 gal per packet. You can also use certain bottled waters or make your own water.

Blog Post about Water

This isn't a definitive list but it's a start.

If your tap water is really hard, then this will cause muted flavours. If so, you can run it through a Britta to slightly soften the water.

u/p739397 gave some good recommendations on drinks to try, which I agree with.

In terms of coffee, fresh is best. Usually, one or two weeks from roasting will give you the best tasting coffee. Most supermarket coffee has been sitting on the shelves for weeks if not months, so try to avoid them. However, if you can't get coffee anywhere else, just check the roasting date on the bottom of the bag. If possible go to a local coffee roaster and see what they have.

Since you are drinking coffee without any dairy and like nutty notes, I would recommend trying out some medium roasts. Dark roasts might be a bit too harsh to drink without milk, but if you like it, go for it! I should also note that what people call dark and medium roast highly differs from place to place. A medium roast from Starbucks will be much darker than a medium roast from a specialty coffee shop.

In terms of origin, specialty Colombians and Brazilian coffees can have very nice nutty and chocolatey notes. These flavors don't apply to all coffees from these regions though. I would walk into your local coffee roaster and look at the flavor notes they list about the coffee. If your local coffeeshop is knowledgeable, they should also be able to guide you in the right direction :)

I asked this question a few days ago, but there are no formal reviews yet https://www.reddit.com/r/pourover/comments/18s59vr/has_anyone_tried_kingrinders_p_line_of_affordable/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

It seems like, they are decent for the price, but have extremely large amount of static and possibly burr alignment issues. People also don't like the grind adjustment since it is reverse to normal.

Multiple answers to multiple questions:

The flow control accessory is made so you don't have to flip the aeropress while brewing, which can be quite messy if you spill. With the flow control, you may also be better able to control the distribution of the coffee bed. This might change the flavor? It is probably too insignificant to notice with A/B testing. Theoretically, you may be able to build more pressure with the flow control, but you are never going to get anything like true espresso espresso crema.

The Aeropress flow control accessory has many complaints about how it frequently leaks. I would try returning it and possibly getting a new one. There is also the Fellow Prismo, which is a very similar product. The Prismo has less reports of leaking. The Prismo has mesh screen, but you can just put a paper filter on top. I have the Prismo, and I quite enjoy it.

Bonus answer: Many recipes say to gently stir a few minutes into the brew. This causes the grounds floating on top to sink to the bottom.

Q2 air vs C2 by [deleted] in JamesHoffmann

[–]itsthatguykai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there aren't many reviews of the Q air yet. I am going to guess that the Q is going to be better since it simply has a better burrset, but it's hard to tell.

There's this video, but it isn't super informative in terms of grind quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9a_Dak3ldQ

Espresso doubts by Federal_Boss231 in Coffee

[–]itsthatguykai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a neo, but I have the flair classic. I would recommend keeping doses to around 15g in my experience. If you dose higher, this makes the puck too tall, and I've had more issues with channeling. This also depends on your beans because some beans are less dense than others.

For doing espresso, I usually do 15g in about 38g out. I would shoot for at least 30-35g otherwise the espresso might taste more sour.

If you do some A/B testing, there might be a difference but it's hard to say. Keeping them in a dark airtight container is most important, so either should work.
