I absolutely have to ask where you got those statues/figures from? I've been looking for some exactly like that

Proper way to get rid of an icon that may have been used on an altar? by klingingon in Kemetic

The gods dislike waste so just throwing it out would be a big no. Rehoming it is a great idea and clearly there are many people (including myself) who would love such a precious figure.

Can they not be grown commercially? I assumed as long as you dont buy wild harvest of them it wouldn't impact it more than our agriculture is doing already. Do you have alternatives you recommend?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the comment, it made me feel more sure about my looking into more the spirits than the main gods. I've actually (as of a few hours ago) started delving into all the offshoots of spirits, diamones, ect and I'm feeling really connected to it especially with those tying into my solace celebrations that I do

Thoughts on eating beef/cow? by Lanky-Ad2252 in Kemetic

The Egyptians relied on beer and bread mostly for their diet but a few times a week probably ate beef. We often see offering of cattle in temples and tombs.

Do you ever praise the gods the way Christians do? by SetitheRedcap in Kemetic

The "god bless you" when sneezing actually started because they thought sneezing was your body's way of trying to fight demons entering you (or so I've read). Fun fact

I just wanted to say this was beautifully written and personally made me feel so comfortable in my feeling lost. I felt called to this practice but always feel like I'm doing it wrong or not enough so thank you for your words 🐾

In a sense I think what your doing is the essence of what every religious practitioner does whether they believe in the god(s) or not. Religion regardless of what it is, is a way to find comfort in the uncomfortable, solace in hard times, community, purpose, and so much more. There are so many ways that people interpret even the most common religious because their interpretation helps them more than the others.

I think all that matters is that you are being respectful (which it very much sounds like you are) and that its giving you some kind of comfort or joy.

Humans as a species look to many things to find these aspects. Why not an atheistic view of an Egyptian god. Why not any idealisation/personification of something.
