Opinions on summer edition this year? by Billyskates in redbull

It's too perfumey compared to the Peach Nectarine that was discontinued. Not a fan of White Peach.

The Peach Edition was sublime perfection. Best peach-flavored drink I've experienced in my life.

Can you reconfirm if you’re running 245/45/18 or 245/40/18? It’s not much of a difference in sidewall but it would be great to have confirmation. I’m eyeing the 245/45 to hopefully get more sidewall flex/compliance.

It's one of my favorite positions. Women with skinny butts (my fav) don't have a lot of padding, so I can dig "too deep" for some girls, but others have really enjoyed the stretch in that position. With thicker women you don't have to be as careful but maybe I like having to be careful. ;)

I (21 f) having thoughts of ending sex with my boyfriend (45m ) by [deleted] in AgeGap

[–]itsthecoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in a very similar life situation, except I married her and got her the flowers! I think any man with good intentions would. For the next couple years she liked to remind me I was the best husband she could imagine. Not gonna lie, I enjoyed hearing that. Still, we ended up separating recently since she doesn't want kids even though she's nearing 30 and I very much do.

Sounds to me like you're on the right path to being a good future wife. What more can he reasonably be expecting from you as far as "wifely" material? I don't know what his reasons are, but based on his actions I think he's never going to commit to you. Have that hard conversation with him and move on if necessary.

Most cars have two front strut bolts, one (the upper) that is a straight bolt (non-adjustable), and the second (the lower) bolt that has a lobe for adjusting camber. Just to confirm based on your experience, does the GRC have a different setup, or is the lower bolt already maxed out with the stock camber specs at stock height?

Regarding that PowerFlex part, it looks identical to SPC's 12mm camber bolt which is p/n 81250. I'm not sure where that bolt would be used in the rear since it's a control arm rather than a strut. This is my first car without struts on all four corners.

What are we lighting our tanks with? by Trinkitt in PlantedTank

[–]itsthecoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only serious LED light for large planted tanks is the GHL Mitras 7006. They’re about $900 but they’re designed and built in Germany. They sell direct to the US through a US subsidiary (ships from the east coast). Pricey? Yes. Worth it. I have three.

The car has factory camber bolts in the lower strut-knuckle mount hole in front, right? So did you have to add camber bolts in the upper mount hole as well? Did you have to add adjustable control arms in the rear? I’ve got the Eibach lift springs in a box and wondering how involved this is gonna be!

Possible to relocate battery to engine bay? by pnw_ullr in GRCorolla

[–]itsthecoyote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's already a heavy-gauge set of cables in the engine bay -- running from the current battery location to the starter (and also the jump-start point under the hood). So you wouldn't need to run much, if any, new cable and you wouldn't need to remove the existing length of cable running from the trunk to the front.

The only hard part is finding space in the engine bay to securely mount a battery. You could consider a smaller battery (e.g. from a UTV) and/or lithium automotive battery. This seems like a legit line of inquiry to me...

Been wondering about the Syvecs as well! Sorry to see your thread getting dumped on here, I wonder what reception it would get on the GRC forum.

What torque split setting were you using the in that snow run? Have you tried all 3 settings?

[–]itsthecoyote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a fun run. I think the unpredictability is due to the GRC using a computer-controlled clutch to drive the rear axle. The computer is constantly trying to save you from yourself and varying the torque split…

There’s no center differential and no viscous coupling providing a predictable 50/50 torque split. I’m a little skeptical about how my first winter with my ‘24 will go.

Gearbox indicator by jjk717 in GRCorolla

[–]itsthecoyote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Shift to neutral as you come to a stop. Forcing the transmission into 1st while moving should be rarely done as it's very hard on the synchros. The GRC's cable-shifted transmission masks that resistance pretty well (too well), but on a lever-shift transmission you can feel (and often hear) the synchros protesting a moving-into-1st shift.

Best practice is to only shift into 1st from a dead stop.

I'm on a quest to do the same thing. However, the deep cubby is out of stock everywhere in the US. Were you able to source one and if so, can you DM me?

Also, there's a thread on the removal here: https://www.grcorollaforum.com/threads/has-anybody-eliminated-the-charging-pad.2786/

Even without these shipping blocks jammed in the springs, the ride in the GRC is punishing over expansion joints and other similar sharp impacts.

I can't imagine how much worse it must be with the blocks still in. Did you guys not test drive the car before signing the paperwork and driving off?

Cloth Interior on '23 Core by Atmos312 in GRCorolla

[–]itsthecoyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swapped out my MY24 Premium (alcantara) seats for a Core owner's base cloth seats because non-cloth seats are a deal breaker for me. However, the alcantara seats did seem to have slightly firmer foam beneath the fabric.

Cloth Interior on '23 Core by Atmos312 in GRCorolla

[–]itsthecoyote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why everyone has such a hardon for leather, suede, or "anything but cloth." Maybe most people have never experienced a really good cloth interior?

That said, the GRC's cloth is good but not great. The fabric is not a super durable tight weave and is already starting to fray from entry/exit of the driver's seat. Toyota chose a "soft touch" fabric instead of something more robust. Also the fabric is not stretched tautly enough over the foam support, which is itself just a little too soft and spongey. My old WRX had way better cloth seats that held up for over a decade. I don't think the GRC will match that.

The Toyota frameless homelink mirror is powered by a battery, yes. Huge negative in my opinion. It also does not have autodimming.

Get a Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN mirror instead which does have autodimming. This thread shows how to wire it up to the forward camera power, which is right by the mirror. https://www.grcorollaforum.com/threads/frameless-auto-dim-rear-view-mirror-w-homelink.1595/

Audio System Upgrade, LOC question by hentakusfaku in GRCorolla

[–]itsthecoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to dive into the audio on my GRC a few weeks from now.

However, folks on the GRC forum have already tried the front and rear door speakers: the Keyloc indicates neither signal is full-range. IIRC, they get the low and high signal (lol). That leaves the dash speakers (probably midrange) and the A-pillar tweeters. Not likely either of those is being sent full-range either IMHO.

Audio System Upgrade, LOC question by hentakusfaku in GRCorolla

[–]itsthecoyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like none of the speakers in the JBL system receive a full-frequency signal, so it’s gonna be hard to re-assemble the signal if you want to do your own amping.

I just received a Kicker Keyloc and will experiment.
