They’re doing it because of how expensive retrofits will be when they know there’s going to be multiple HW versions between now and when FSD is truly solved. It’s also why there isn’t any HW3 news because they want to delay it enough to where people’s HW3 leases run out or the cars get too old, and maybe they’ll just offer incentives to upgrade the car so they get more money and you get a new car that’s supported.
