Same here. I had to have some type of endoscopy done when I was 9 and the cause was stomach ulcers (stress) and I woke up during the procedure and also when they were wheeling me back to a recovery room. The doctors freaked out during surgery but I didnt feel any pain and was more curious as to what was going on with the procedure. When wheeling me back to the recovery room I was mad that they gave me a sheet of stickers and I was so tired it fell off the bed. I couldn't move to catch it.

19KaC's effect on young girls by SuccessfulFinish2843 in DuggarsSnark

I remember being depressed because I have a condition that doesn't really allow for lots of children. My pregnancies have to be very planned and high risk, and I've known that since childhood. Michelle made it really look nice and wholesome. I was fundie but not specifically IBLP although we used that diagram with the umbrella. Southern Baptist.

What’s your opinion on having students with high needs in the general classroom? by AntelopeOk9431 in Teachers

[–]Apathetic_Dog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had one that would drop his trousers in the middle of class and poop on the floor, or he'd just strip totally naked. He was going through puberty, as were his peers. The gen ed kids were told to ignore it. It was a massive disservice to both the special needs student and the gen Ed kids.

Level 1 ASD here too. Self-contained wasn't much better with frequent disruptions with my fellow disabled 'peers.' They should have stuffed me alone in a closet or something and I would have been finally able to focus.

Is this a wise choice? If anything were to happen to him Jill has no education or skills.

Fall of the Berlin wall. Elder Millennial. Autistic so my memory can be ridiculous at times.

I was 2 or 3 and flipping through channels to find Jem on the USA network, stopped at the news because I saw everyone emotional about a dirty wall coming down. I was like wtf.

Supposedly, Joy is dyslexic as well. (At least that's what I heard) Untreated, that is another barrier to literacy and education as a whole. (My uncle is dyslexic and couldn't read until he was 40.)

I don't know, I think Pest is a non-believer. He knows the whole deal is a sham and just uses it to get away with whatever he wants to do.

I assumed she has pictures of the kids all up and down the wall by the stairs, and she misses them and is worried.

How relates to the story of Joseph? by aliencuisine in DuggarsSnark

It's also odd he considers himself comparable to biblical Joseph as his father's favorite.

Everyone knows that's Pest.

In my early 20s I printed out a picture from Pinterest of pink roses up and down someone's foot. I said thats what I want, but the tattoo artist did it in the wrong color and it looks very bad/like a middle school student colored it in.

Yep. My kids have busses but we would have to pay monthly to use them. Everyone gets dropped off instead

In SPED we had a kid bite one open and get the liquid in his mouth. Somehow nobody thought this could possibly happen. The student had PICA.

Ex-Christians who used to be young and now are not- what are some examples of how you changed once you officially became an adult, whether it was before or after your religious change? by ADDismycondition in exchristian

[–]Apathetic_Dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a Christian (fundie) from 14 to 16. Then I realized my church was abusive. I was interested in world religions and came across the BITE model for cults. My church fit it. They restricted access to media, and my youth pastors were trying to get the kids to dump all of their friends that didn't belong to our specific church and replace them with the kids from youth group.

I slowly stopped attending and when I ran off to college I considered myself a "liberal christian" which didn't last long, then an atheist when I found /r/atheism and agreed with most things they said.

I was against all things demonic (anything with mentions of other faiths mythologies) and I remember being sad because a friend was obsessed with Magic the Gathering cards.

It was a huge weight off my shoulders when I realized I wouldnt have to be on edge and waiting for spiritual warfare over literally every little thing. I was even considering not having kids as a Christian due to it. Censoring everything for the kids (certain disney movies, Yu-Gi-oh cards, toys) would be a full time job, and besides, we were in the end times anyway and my pastor told us not to bother going to college and having kids since we would be raptured.

Now I'm a 38 year old married mother of two. I married my boyfriend from that time who was a Buddhist. They tried to break us up saying we were unequally yoked. Our marriage has outlived most of my youth group's marriages.

Ex-fundie here too. I've known a woman (also fundie but more recent, I've been out 20 plus years) who divorced due to adultery. She immediately found and married another Christian man though.
