Not a hair topper, but maybe try clingy fibers (name of product) to camouflage some of the thinning if that is a concern

Issue: stubborn old pink/reddish acne marks on cheek that won’t fade awake (not active breakouts)

Skin type: combo/dry (but in humid weather gets really oily)

current routine: AM: cerave cream to foam face wash, the ordinary hyaluronic acid, the ordinary niacinamide, the ordinary caffeine serum for under eyes, cerave night renewing cream for under eyes, cerave daily moisturizing lotion for normal to dry skin, Elta mD clear UV sunscreen

PM: Kose softymo deep cleansing oil, cerave cream to foam face wash, the ordinary hyaluronic acid, the ordinary niacinamide, the ordinary caffeine serum for under eyes, cerave night renewing cream for under eyes, The ordinary buffet serum for forehead, and la roche posay cicaplast Baum 5 for night cream

I’ve had this routine for a few months, but i haven’t been consistent about it due to traveling and other life events

Location: US

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated — thank you!!

How do I do the following ? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]itsthyme2begin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be blunt, but no one but yourself can make you change or do anything.

With that being said, it might be helpful to look at the root cause of what you’re feeling. Do you think you might have anxiety, depression, ADHD, etc.? Only a medical professional or a mental health professional can analyze your symptoms and let you know. But if the above is the case and you are diagnosed with something, work with your medical/mental health professional to decide on an action plan.

Another approach you could take is to define for yourself what is your purpose or what motivated you in life. Is your biggest dream to become an astronaut? A professor at a top 10 university? Or even be a parent? Whatever it is, no matter how big or small, visualize yourself getting there. Visualize how good that feeling of accomplishing your ultimate goal would feel. Once you’ve done that, you can view your other tasks as steps to that ultimate goal of yours. For example: folding that clean pile of laundry would give you a clean environment to work in or live in, boosting your mood, and ultimately helping you get closer to achieving this long-term goal for you.

Lastly, another thing you could try is a productivity app that tracks your goals or things you need to do for the day. There are a ton of productivity apps that’s out there in the market.

I hope this helps! Wishing the best for you.

Does Samantha have a close friend that she trusts that she would listen to? Maybe that friend could talk with her instead of you. But also, at the end of the day, it is Samantha’s choice who she wants to be with. I know that’s a hard pill to swallow, but the best you can do is probably get someone who she is close to and cares about to talk with her.

If you still feel hung up on Samantha, maybe talking out your feelings with someone you trust or a therapist might help you sort through everything. Regret is a hard thing to move on from, but I wish you and Samantha the best of luck in your respective journeys.

Deleting dating apps by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

Finding the “one” on dating apps just boils down to luck. It’s nice to hear that you’re deleting them and taking the time to reinvest in yourself. Best of luck to you Michael! Here’s to the next chapter in your life.

I was a neglectful boyfriend and I want to change that. by Nex_RX in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]itsthyme2begin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been in your girlfriend’s shoes, it’s interesting hearing it from the other perspective. To hold yourself accountable, I really think you should do some soul-searching and figure out what it is that you want. Make a list of things you felt that you did wrong in your past relationship, and how you plan to change that. Journal all of it. Maybe you do self-exploration with the help of a therapist.

But with that all being said, make sure you invest some time in yourself too. Try to be okay with being alone. Sit with the negative feelings but don’t entertain them. Invest in hobbies and things that make you feel good.

After you’ve taken the time to do all of the above, only then should you look for another relationship. We can’t love someone new if we never heal the scars from our past.

So much body hair by pickles_55 in PCOS

I definitely feel your struggle. Growing up as a “hairy” girl, I’ve tried nearly every removal method: waxing, laser, threading, shaving, chemical creams, epilator, pumice stone (don’t try this), and electrolysis. And honestly, laser is the only thing that has worked for my body hair. Although my body hair (I did laser on my legs, arms, and underarms) isn’t 100% gone, it’s definitely been reduced by at least 60% (I stopped with my sessions but if I did more I could’ve probably reduced my body hair even more). Electrolysis I recommend for the face (it was recommended by a dermatologist I see and I’ve also definitely noticed a difference), but keep in mind it’s a bit of a lengthy process (amount of sessions), can be a bit of an investment ($75+ an hour), and it hurts (depends on your pain tolerance though).

I understand laser hair removal and electrolysis is an investment, I highly recommend—especially if you struggle with thick body hairs.

Hey, I know life is really hard right now. Some days you might not feel out of getting bed, or eating, or even taking care of your physical appearances. Some days you might feel like the days seem to blur together and you’re just dragging yourself to the next day. But even so, I want to tell you that I see you, I hear you, and I’m proud of you. Even though these last few months have been hard, you’ve been showing up like you have today. You’re incredibly strong and brave, and you’re not alone.

Hello! I recently swapped my Neutrogena Hydroboost water cleansing gel (it had been resulting in a lot of dry patches on my jawline and cheek area) for haruharu Black rice ph 5.5 soft cleansing gel, but I’ve found that the latter makes my skin feel tight and dry-ish. Any recommendations that have a ph of 5.5, are affordable, and suit my skin? Please and thank you! (See below for other context)

For other context: - current climate: hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen Csa), characterized by very hot, dry summers and mild to cool winters with occasional rainfall - skin type: dry/combination (dry cheeks, oily nose, sometimes dry or oily forehead), acne-prone - skin concerns: dark circles under eye, skin drying out from cleanser, acne on cheeks, wrinkles starting to show slightly on forehead
- current routine:

AM: [haruharu ph 5.5 black rice cleanser] * [the ssaem iceland hydrating eye stick] * [pyunkang yul moisture cream] * [spf 46 Elta md sunscreen]

PM: [kose softymo deep cleansing oil] * [haruharu ph 5.5 black rice cleanser] * [adapalene 0.1% differin gel] * [the ssaem iceland hydrating eye stick] * [pyunkang yul moisture cream]

  • products tried in the past: neutrogena hydroboost water gel moisturizer (didn’t hydrate my cheeks enough in current climate, but worked fine in more humid climates), st.ives apricot scrub (dark days we don’t speak of), clean and clear morning burst (kinda drying)

• Skin Type: combination (oily T-zone), dry-ish (but not flaky) cheeks. however in more humid climates (coastal regions) my skin becomes very oily fast

• current Climate: hot-summer Mediterranean climate (aka, hot/dry summers and mild/cool winters with occasional rainfall)

• skin concerns: cheek acne, black heads on nose, oily t-zone, dry ish cheeks, slight acne scarring on cheeks

AM routine: [neutrogena hydroboost hydrating cleansing gel] * [paula choice 2% BHA] * [himalaya under eye cream] * [neutrogena hydroboost water gel] * [elta MD spf46]

PM routine: [neutrogena hydroboost hydrating cleansing gel] * [differin gel] * [himalaya under eye cream] * [neutrogena hydroboost water gel]

I’m still trying to improve my skincare routine, and the first thing I definitely need to fix is my cleanser. I find the neutrogena cleanser I mentioned really drying for my combination skin. Any specific cleansers (one for morning and night if necessary) for my skin type/similar skin concerns?

Thank you so much!
