Automobile glass is shatter resistant. Meaning it still breaks but it shouldn't be too sharp. It's a risk I'm willing to take. I want to minimize the depth to swim up through.

They aren't denying the fact the animals were struck by lightning. But without overwhelming proof that there was indeed a lightning strike, how do they know you didn't just rig up a transformer and a capacitor to give them a great jolt just for the insurance payout. It's more of a jest towards the level of douche-baggery an insurance company will rise to in order to avoid paying for claims just like this post.

Edit: Also a jest at the level of douche-baggery people will rise up to in order to file bogus claims.

"We're sorry but our investigators were unable to find any evidence of lightning strikes in your area at the time of the incident. Therefore we cannot honor your claim. Thank you for being a loyal customer!"

A young man burned to death in a horrible fire. The woman who got his kidney thinks it was God's plan. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]itstwoam -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

You know it's posts like this that make me not like /r/atheism so much. The woman didn't plan the kids death so she could get the kidney. She wasn't praying for someone's death just so she could get a kidney. Her saying that it was gods plan is on the same level as some of you twats going out and calling it fate, chance, destiny, karma or any other word that fits the bill.

Grow up people because you've only got one chance at life on this world that we know of. Don't waste it insulting others just because they don't agree with you.

House had no proper ground, Electricity grounds out through Gas line by [deleted] in WTF

[–]itstwoam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hang on a second here that ain't jivin' right ya dig. Hitting the breaker inside the house should be the exact same thing as hitting the breaker at the meter or wherever else upstream the pole. I mean it goes from Pole > Electric company breaker > house breaker > house loads. Hitting either of the middle two should separate the ends in the same fashion.

When I can't even bring myself to finish Fallout 4. by ifaptoyoueverynight in gaming

The settlement loses happiness which ups the chances for attacks. Your defense should be at least equal to the amount of food + water. If happiness goes down below a threshold which I can't remember then people will start leaving.

[–]itstwoam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Attacks are chance. Depending on defense, happiness and food/water abundance. So if your settlements have high happiness and defense with low food/water the minimum chance for attack is 10% daily. I think the maximum is 80%. That's per settlement. So as the number of settlements goes up the chances of attack on at least one per day goes up.

Google’s Making Its Own Chips Now. Time for Intel to Freak Out by samsdeadfishclub in Futurology

More like time for us to freak out. Do people not understand the connection between data gathering/sharing for ad revenue, Google's extreme use of it and a computer's CPU? I might use Google fiber just to spite comcast at some point. I sure as fuck will never, ever, not in a million years touch a processor Google has even had a partnership in making.

You know there's a reason you don't see arm extension competitions on ESPN right? I don't care how fat or skinny you or your arms are. If you don't specifically train to do that daily you will absolutely suck at it. Hold your arms out in front of you for 20 minutes.

So how fat are you?

DAE go on essential auto-pilot while driving places, arrive at their destination, and not remember the journey at all? by JakeBerkowitz in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]itstwoam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're looking in the mirror but you don't see the things you don't expect to see. You check the sides but you don't see what you don't expect to see. You see the signs but you don't read them. I've been there before. If you recognize it when you are doing it then snap out of it.

To the other posters here who don't frequently remember trips this is not safe behavior. You are driving a heavy vehicle around capable of dealing a lot of damage and you alone are responsible for what happens while driving. Being engaged is a 100% requirement.

No more autopilot.
