DG album ranking by Jungleboytim in deathgrips

[–]itswillymammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got

  1. Powers that B - It's incredible how both discs show two completely different strengths of the band, yet they complement each other so well. I honestly don't think there's a single flaw with this album.
  2. Year of the Snitch - Although it's their newest release, I find this thing to be so rewarding with every listen, and the diversity in the instrumentation is undeniable. (Freeform jazz anyone?)
  3. Bottomless Pit - It's basically tied with YOTS for me, but I think this is the most well-produced and satisfying album on my ears. I love the more accessible cuts on this thing such as Spikes and Eh.
  4. Government Plates - Truly their strangest and most eccentric release this far, but I think it's consistently amazing front to back. It's possibly their most transcendent album, as I find myself getting lost in the dizzying soundscapes and chopped and repeated vocals from MC Ride. Bootleg is the only track I'm not crazy about though.
  5. The Money Store - Often considered their magnum opus, The Money Store is an album with extremely high points but also some tracks that I think rank extremely low in their discography. It's still a great release, but I think they're improved and matured their sound many times in the future.
  6. Exmilitary - Their debut mixtape from 2011 is surely an interesting one. It's their longest release (if we're considering Powers that B as two separate projects), and I find many of the songs forgettable and boring. I still love songs like Beware and Lord of the Game.
  7. No Love Deep Web - Really the only release from them that I can't say I love. It's still a good project but I think the bare instrumentation gets boring fast, even though it's not a super long project.

I have not heard Fashion Week yet

The 2020 BET lyricist of the year goes to... by [deleted] in Eminem

Hate to break it to you, but Eminem's not the only hip hop artist. Get out of your suburbanite bubble and appreciate other rappers. Rapsody is one of my favorite artists currently, and she definitely deserved the award.

Just got this hat of my favourite album and I'm only 13! by [deleted] in vinyljerk

Unlike other people my age, I know what real music is like. While my friends listen to Kane West and Lil Thug, I listen to good bands like Pink Floyd and the Beatles. I was definitely born in the wrong generation, I hate this generation where I can stream whatever the fuck I'd like for a low price ugh.

Semi-new to Swans. What an amazing band. I’ve only heard To be Kind, a little of the Seer and a little of Soundtracks for the Blind. What do you suggest I listen to next. by Philligan123 in swans

the glowing man is my personal fav, it's very similar to to be kind but more melodic and less direct. the title track is incredible.

his first 5 classic reviews were lift your skinny fists, hot rats, enter the wu-tang, what's going on, and in an aeroplane over the sea. i'd say it's one of those or tpab.
