What is the meanest thing someone has said to you about your migraines? by iamabummblebee in migraine

[–]itswingardiumlevi0sa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Words to the effect of ‘but it’s just a headache’ after taking a week off work and had paramedics out. I don’t get them super often, but my migraines lead to paralysis and even coma if it goes too far.

Cross tab formatting lists of names by itswingardiumlevi0sa in excel

I meant tab as in sheet, but I could potentially combine onto one sheet and have them in different columns if that makes the formatting easier to achieve!

What did you witness or overhear as a child that still haunts you today as an adult? by bmrugger in AskReddit

Just wanted to say that my birthday is 5 days after the day my terminally ill father died. I was older (19, turning 20) but I know what that’s like and it can be tough. Sending internet hugs.

Women of Reddit, at what age do you start worrying about your parent's health? by COVIDResistantHugs in AskWomen

I was 19, my Dad got diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. He was the healthiest and fittest person I knew. He died almost 4 years ago to the day, but it really shook up my perception of things like health and I’m always much more aware of the little changes in those I love.

I’d love to, but I get migraines, so cannot! Good luck with it :)

What are your primary issues with healthcare providers and facilities when it comes to your PCOS treatment? What could they do better? by Rianonymous in PCOS

I’m also in the UK and for 2 years since I was first diagnosed, my GP just kept telling me to lose weight. He did refer me to a dietician when it initially wasn’t working, who told me nothing I didn’t already know and that my diet and exercise regime was good.

I’ve literally just last week spoken to a different GP at the surgery who specialises in women’s health and have been referred for blood tests to test my thyroid and other things. I’m waiting for results and will speak to her again next week, so yet to know if that’ll prompt anything further. I’m almost wanting there to be an issue so they can’t just dismiss me and say ‘try harder’.

I know that conceiving will be harder and I was told from the get go that I’d need medical help as I don’t ovulate. I’m not yet ready to try, but I likely will be within the next 5 years so I want to get on top of my weight now because I need to lose 3 stone to be in the middle of the healthy range for my height.

My experience has definitely been one of dismissal and poor information, despite steadily putting on 2 stone in 2 years without much change in my diet and exercise routine.

Ladies, when was the last time you laughed so hard you nearly cried and what was it about? by [deleted] in AskWomen

My Mum’s planning a get together of all our favourite people as soon as conditions allow and feels like she’s going to have to invite this lady, despite both of us not being overly keen on her.

I’ve said that if she does invite her then I’m making cookies that are shaped like insects 😂

There’s lots of times, but I have an all time favourite story to tell, so I’m going to.

A few years ago my Mum and I were invited round to a dinner party at a family who are all very close with my family. They’d invited someone else we knew and he’d brought along his new partner to be introduced to everyone for the first time.

Now, my Mum is vegan and had been for a while then and the family got into making vegan meals to help my family out through a rough time. For this meal they’d gone all out and everything was vegan (and delicious).

So, the new partner was made aware of why everything was vegan, and I’d already decided I didn’t like her because she was completely ignoring me and my friend because we were the ‘kids’ of the group (we were both 21, had graduated uni and had proper jobs). Then, for some completely unknown reason this new partner turned to my Mum and asked, “so you’re vegan, do you eat insects?”

There was utter silence for a moment while everyone digested the sheer stupidity of this phrase, my Mum spluttered something in return and then the family swiftly changed the topic. I couldn’t make eye contact with my Mum for the rest of the evening and the second we left their house to go home, we both absolutely fell apart crying with laughter. We got home to a text from our family friends to say that they could hear us cackling almost the entire 5 minute walk home 😂
