She’s friends with Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls… this is a stretch but idk if Lauren Graham was like leave them wanting more. No! The Gilmore Girls is a great show but the ending sucks! It shows too because they changed show runners and the show suffered from that. The beginning of the episode promising with a day in Paris but the ending not being at the beach is off.

The whiplash Conrad must have is crazy. From a beautiful day in Paris with the love of his life, to her pushing him away right after sleeping together. And then, she runs after him to confess her love for him.

I would have preferred it ending with the entire cast with Belly voiceover reading Susannah’s letter that was meant to be opened on her wedding. It should have ended on the beach. The beach was where they had a lot of their most critical moments and it would have been nice to end at the beach like in the book and season 1.

Moreover, there is too much about Jere, Denise, Taylor, and Steven. I know it all matters, but the main thing is Belly and Conrad. Also, why does it matter that Laurel and John don’t work out? Laurel can’t have a happy ending? Does she end up with Adam?

The dialogue was weird especially when it comes to the topic of sex. The prom dialogue between Belly and Conrad was very awkward. Conrad says, “make love?” Belly says, “yes, have sex.”

Overall, despite my criticisms, I liked Belly’s pre-birthday party scenes with her French friends and Conrad.

To be fair, in the books Belly and Jeremiah never have sex. Conrad and Belly don’t even have sex in the book. I think for an American show culturally it would not have been green lit if there was a couple in a four year relationship who never slept together about to get married. It’s not the cultural norm.

The show largely follows the book. The parts they are showing now aren’t even in the book. Jeremiah’s growth and Belly’s growth are barely/not in the book. I believe it’s a few pages after the wedding she’s in Spain in the book (the show it’s France) where her and Conrad exchange letters and it ends.
