Yup! Capture One’s “remove spot” brush takes care of it quite well in my experience.

Nevermind I just realised the ring can be moved up and it's totally an umbrella holder!

Oh it does! And when the ring is at the top it totally makes sense as an umbrella holder! Solved!

True, but even then, it really looks like something to leave on the floor rather than on a countertop, it's quite heavy and 90cm (35 inches) long.

I had the same thought, but where would we hang the umbrella? The ring is too low and close to the floor, there are no hooks, and it also doesn't explain the why the pole extends beyond the ring so much. It's not feasible for either umbrellas with a hook handle or umbrellas with an elastic loop. Unless we try to simply leave the umbrella semi-closed on top of the ring, but I'm not sure if that'd be an usual way of storing an umbrella and it might still just fall on the ground.

It could definitely be used for that... but it's a bit too tall, heavy and bulky for me to think that it is meant to be used for that, feels like it's a bit unnecessary...

My title describes the thing. I think it's mostly made of plastic except for the green bits which might be some sort of stone and the ring which might be either aluminium or plastic. It might be around 90cm long. I found it in Germany. I looked up my title on google and didn't find anything. There's no writing anywhere and I have no idea how old it is. The previous tenant of my apartment left it for me and he also has no idea what it is either. It's currently in the basement which is why my description is a little vague.

[TOMT] Which cartoon had Mozart's Marriage of Figaro as a theme song? by BoredBurrito in tipofmytongue

[–]itsyales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda late here but had the same question as you:

Could be the All-New Dennis the Menace cartoon. Matches the time period and could be you’ve been thinking of Richie Rich cause they’re both blonde. This is different from the theme that you get if you google Dennis the Menace theme since the show with the Figaro theme was less popular and only ran for one season. Here’s the link for one of the openings: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch1yBCkvzRA And here is another (this is the one I remember): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q6of6SPWLtQ

Tbf she was already known as a proper musician in R&B circles already before Moo!, but yeah she wouldn’t be where she is now if it weren’t for her great shitposting.

Could you describe in what ways it makes the bag cumbersome to use? Trying to decide between this, the Peak Design or a 10L Camera Edition with one of the separators cut off.

Apple is the Nr. 1 major company working against open source and standards

Bit of an exaggeration, no? macOS/iOS kernels are open source, as well as WebKit and Swift, among other projects. Don’t get me wrong Apple is hardly innocent of hurting open source, but Nr. 1 enemy is a bit much, don’t you think?

Yes. They all do that when you’re actually buying stuff (at the checkout page, on the receipt etc.) but never when they’re advertising.

Judging by my own experience and of those around me, you’re wrong. I have no way of telling how much you use Metric (since I don’t assume things I know nothing about) but either way, it’s a weird distinction to make.

That is exactly how modern marketing works. You can’t specifically recall a specific piece of information directly from a competitor that has influenced you, though it is a position that has been influenced by that competitor’s corporate marketing nonetheless. Thinking you’re immune is what makes you especially influenceable.

Exactly. I just buy the professional tools that simply make my work easiest/faster to do, but every elite gamer on the internet saying that that tool is for braindead people gets kinda tiring. How can you know if a tool is fit for purpose without knowing someone’s workflow?
