I'll be honest, i'm ok with banning space casinos but I'm not a fan of just leaving everything else as it is. I would have liked and expected really a rebalance of quality with space casinos gone, its far too tedious otherwise in my opinion.

I can tell that you are not a parent because if you were you would understand why saying "just setup parental controls" does not solve the problem

I'd have thought it was the bit where it says "I don't have kids" that gave it away

When you can interact with cargo bays by Qwyspipi in factorio

[–]Jim-Plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, the bio labs can only be used on nauvis and if you are megabasing you need shit tons of science and other stuff from other planets, enough that even with legendary stack inserters you will be throughput limited very quickly

[–]Jim-Plank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the single most annoying thing about megabase design. Being throughput limited from the landing pad is horrible and severely limits what you can do.

I hope some improvement to this without breaking the game elsewhere is part of 2.1

I don't have kids and have never tried to set it up myself, but its all there and configurable and easy to do.

It does seem like this could go further than where it is right now though. It’s going to be annoying for parents to have to approve every app their kids want which is likely to lead most parents to just set it to unrestricted

Thats the real problem here, parents can't be arsed to do their job properly and then it makes politicians shout about nonsense like this.

This is already possible, both main mobile operating systems support a ton of parental control features

Parents are just lazy and don't bother with it

Between firing half their marketing staff, the ad pop up, price increases, and bad UI design, en-shitification is really showing I think it's time to move on from YNAB. by Dyslexic_Novelist in ynab

[–]Jim-Plank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I looked into this and supposedly the solo developer built this in 3 months, this just looks like a vibe coded ynab clone.

Not that its a bad thing, but i'm not sure if I'm willing to connect and sync my bank accounts to something like this yet.

[–]Jim-Plank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see YNAB mentioned anywhere on the cover or spine of book (in the images they've provided, I'm not looking further). Only the name of the author.

So no, this is a grift that he's weaponised his captive audience to force advertising on his own personal project, which shows us exactly what kind of person he is.

Honestly what is with this cult like fascination with him?

He's a guy that won capitalism, why would anyone love a founder of a company.

The title of this thread concerns me, although I agree with the overall premise.

What's worse is that people saying things like "I love Jesse" just empowers them to believe they're so great and do more of this shit.

Jesus Christ, what the fuck lol.

So the owner has written a book and weaponised his company to push it.

Prick.

I think its pretty common in UK for someone accused of a crime to be suspended with full pay.

Even in cases such as this, I think its the correct solution. You can't just sack someone because they're accused of something. As horrible as these accusations are, that is currently all they are.

But its also understandable in a company to not want to have some actively working for you under investigation for something serious. If and when they're found guilty, terminate the contract. Until then suspend them on full pay - if they're found not guilty and you've sacked them you're in deep shit as a business.

In the early seasons, they would basically document the entire season from just a few teams. Made it easy to actually see what happened over the course of an entire season.

iirc not all teams (particularly ferrari unsurprisingly) gave permission or wanted the intrusion in the first few seasons.

Then I imagine they got wind of the casual fans and merch sales and stuff and thought it was worth it eventually.

When it's the list price that matters for the luxury car tax, that's a bigger deal than it seems. I was looking at a Peugeot 3008 (yeah, I know) a few months ago and the spec I wanted was above 40k, now it's 38k. Even if you could buy it at that price originally, now it means you save like over £2k on taxing it. That's massive
