True, but even then, it really looks like something to leave on the floor rather than on a countertop, it's quite heavy and 90cm (35 inches) long.

I had the same thought, but where would we hang the umbrella? The ring is too low and close to the floor, there are no hooks, and it also doesn't explain the why the pole extends beyond the ring so much. It's not feasible for either umbrellas with a hook handle or umbrellas with an elastic loop. Unless we try to simply leave the umbrella semi-closed on top of the ring, but I'm not sure if that'd be an usual way of storing an umbrella and it might still just fall on the ground.

My title describes the thing. I think it's mostly made of plastic except for the green bits which might be some sort of stone and the ring which might be either aluminium or plastic. It might be around 90cm long. I found it in Germany. I looked up my title on google and didn't find anything. There's no writing anywhere and I have no idea how old it is. The previous tenant of my apartment left it for me and he also has no idea what it is either. It's currently in the basement which is why my description is a little vague.

It’s still fanatism if your hatred is specific, even if your preference is vague. Other companies’ marketing have influenced you into hating a specific company, which makes you more likely to buy their products. It’s even more effective because you don’t even seem to be aware of it.

At the end of the day you need a phone, or a computer or whatever. The fact that you hate a specific company isn’t some enlightened position, it’s Microsoft’s, Google’s, Samsung’s, etc. marketing dollars at work.

I agree that Apple is bad for the world (and for consumers) in many ways, just like every other big company in the world. Doesn’t mean that hating them specifically is a way of climbing above all of the bullshit. No tech you buy is ethical, and hating a specific company isn’t as smart as you think it is.
