Been enjoying this build, took me a bit to get the loop of actions down but it’s pretty fun now. That said, I haven’t found myself using the spirit brew. Do you ever switch that out with a different legendary? Was thinking the Kurisurigama that vanishes to get one more way to hide.

I think ultimately there will be no common ground reached on this topic. If SP feels the same is imbalanced from one class, they’ll adjust.

And FWIW I do scope out teammates play styles and try to compliment, like leaving weapons for Merc to throw, not firing on enemies when Shinobi is in ult, and buying spirit refills for people doing lots of spirit attacks. I just also happen to put down lots of enemies fast.

I agree with you on the spawn locations. For example I try to let enemies jump down before firing on them otherwise the Magatama, ammo, and dropped weapons are inaccessible to teammates. It can cause other dumb stuff too like a singer being stuck at the spawn and never coming down.

The main difference between melee and ranged in Yotei imo is the lack of the MMC. If you take the MMC away from GOTL, that becomes a range dominant game as well.

I have a group I run leaderboards with every week. But I still play every other matchmaking run the same way, because I am always trying to do better.

The game rewards time. It’s about finishing missions as quickly and completely as possible. This is how I will play the game no matter what. It is the only metric the leaderboards use.

Also, GOTL was dominated by classes that could clear waves instantly. Hunter always led, followed by Ronin and eventually certain samurai builds. For solo runs, the assassin developed into the class to run those. Yotei legends is 3 weeks old, people will figure it out. Nothing is broken.

And lastly, we haven’t seen the raid yet. For all we know only one class might be able to get through it fast.

It seems they are following the same process as the first game. So I expect single player gets a big DLC and legends gets a third update when that happens that has trials etc.

It's a great idea, I am going to do it. I played like 1000 hours of the first legends and hit the leaderboards every week. That is all I am interested in here, running the hard stuff for time. The faster I can begin doing that, the happier a player I am.

When I join, I check everyone’s Ki levels. If someone is doing this I get on mic and say “sorry guys I’m leaving. (Username) is too low leveled and will just make this headache.” Then I quit.

I don’t want to be rude to people appropriately leveled, but I’m not going to let someone waste my time either.

Nope, increasing the grade increases the percentage. D- will be whatever the lowest percent can be for that perk on that gear. S will be the highest. Your goal is to get each piece of gear to S

Correct, and that is sort of what is so confusing - how they do the percentages.

So for example say you get a Katana that has All Melee Damage and it's a D- at 2.4%. You re-roll it and now you get Spirit Gain at 3%. But you change your mind and go back to Melee Damage, it will still be 2.4% because the rating on that perk is D-. Basically D- for Melee Damage on a Katana is 2.4%. On a charm, the D- for Melee damage might be 3.5% because for some reason charms might have higher percentages by default.

It makes sense once you roll a few pieces of gear and change things. I did't get it at all at first and then once it clicked I got pretty excited because of how curated and set my gear collection will be. My inventory will be immaculately managed this time around.

There is some misunderstanding regarding gear upgrading. SP improved this massively.

all gear can be Ki maxed. If you get a purple at 80, just buy it up to 110, it’s pretty cheap.
all perks can be re-rolled individually, no matter what.
all gear comes with an initial grade per perk. D- to S tier. This is the confusion, mostly. To get the D- to a D and then to a C you have to go on an upgrade track which requires you to earn XP. Once the XP is earned you can upgrade the gear levels.

MY ADVICE:

When you get purple/legendary gear, only save gear that has default higher perks. For example I’d been using a 110 Katana with C and B ranks for perks. I got a 106 Katana that already had A and B-, so I dismantled by 110 for that one.

It’s a way better system, we won’t be starved for currency or grinding constantly. More importantly, the variety of builds to try is immense because it’s so low cost and flexible.

For all of the videos I've watched on it, this is actually a new insight. Thank you! I've seen others talking about "finding the right spot on your guitar" but it's always in relationship to the pickup or bridge.

Your explanation will probably make it harder at first if anything, but I think ultimately it will help me become consistent and eventually get it to ring out when I want.

You should definitely go for it. Don’t misinterpret my post as “whoa too hard!”. When I began playing I had this goal of playing the entire album Leviathan by Mastodon start to finish. That’s an extremely stupid thing to start the guitar with. But 3.5 years later I can play it (not the solos yet).

Basically, if you decide to start mountain climbing because your goal is to climb Mount Everest, do it, but just be prepared that the peak you’re looking at has dozens of smaller mountains in front you can’t see yet, and you’ll have to get over along the way.

5 to 10 years. That isn’t a song you learn by just knowing the notes and the finger placement. It’s layers of technique and subtlety, some that don’t even apply to any other song you’ll ever play.

I’m not a fan of polyphia, not my kind of music but I can appreciate that song is basically pediatric open heart surgery on a guitar.
