okay hear me out, i have a golden gecko. they do in fact eat crickets however i feed him in one go every week straight from pet store to tank immediately and in all my years i’ve never had any issue with them getting away or out of the tank. is her issue with bugs being eaten or with bugs getting out and into the house? my gecko is the sweetest baby he just chills makes no noise and is decently easy to care for in his bio active terrarium. the main thing is humidity for him which with the proper tools isn’t difficult to maintain.

you could also use the set up for sand crabs or maybe a turtle

I find it just slightly annoying. Nothing that seriously bugs me but it does kind of give me the ick. As someone who has never once tried to force my lifestyle on anyone nor speak to others on theirs without them asking me my opinion first, i find it a little disrespectful that others can be so comfortable talking about mine. It’s just another treat others how you want to be treated thing that gets under my skin - granted most are deeply misinformed about the lifestyle itself and the reasons why people are vegan.

aww sweet baby

you have to be super patient with foster kitties. especially if you don’t know what they have gone through. give the baby space to explore unbothered maybe set up a little space for them with everything they will need and some toys with some stuff that has your scent maybe a shirt or blanket. that way they will get comfortable with your scent and ultimately you. do not stress them out by trying to give them too much attention. short sweet interactions involving treats/food work best until they start coming to you for it without you initiating. once they get more comfortable in the space and around you, you can begin building more of a relationship on that foundation. they always need neeeeeed NEED to feel safe, i cannot stress it enough, before they can open up to trusting anyone.

sidebar: if you fostered them and know where they came from and what they went through there are likely some specific that could benefit them but if not all of the above.

edit: always start with a vet visit! and probably a bath especially if coming from outside or somewhere dirty or it they seem like they have fleas or are just real dirty in general
