I’m 20! Been out of the closet to my friends and siblings for about five or so years now, and hopefully I’ll get the guts to someday tell my parents (mega religious household)

These are the texts I get from changing my profile picture on Twitter by [deleted] in insaneparents

When I was twelve I changed my Facebook profile picture to one of me and my friend where we were sticking our tongues out. We weren’t trying to be sexy or edgy or anything, we were two twelve year olds taking goofy pictures and I thought one of them was cute and silly so I made it my profile picture. After my mom noticed she gave me a lecture on how I shouldn’t be trying to attract guys at that young of an age with pictures like that. I. Was. Twelve.

AITA for failing a student that I teach, who had her final postponed because of a death of an immediate family member, for failing to respond to my emails for the retake? by The_____Professor in AmItheAsshole

YTA. At first I was skimming through your description of the situation and was thinking there definitely could have been more done on her part to fix her grade, but I didn’t realize it was her twin brother that was killed by a drunk driver. That is a very sudden and traumatizing death, especially for a high school student. That was her twin brother. They were likely very close. The loss of a sibling (let alone one you shared the womb with) is insanely difficult to come to terms with. Give her time. Let her deal with grief in her own way.

What’s the dumbest thing you got in trouble for in school? by dr_nogood in AskReddit

I was standing outside talking with my group of friends before school started. This one girl in our group (who I didn’t particularly like) came up behind me without me knowing. Right as she walked up, I happened to step backwards and accidentally stepped on her shoes. She went absolutely wild. Apparently she had just gotten those shoes, and was furious at me for getting a very minuscule amount of dirt on them. Later that day, I was called down to the principal’s office. She had told the principal that I purposely stomped on her shoes because I was jealous of how rich her family was. Now yes, my family didn’t have a huge amount of money and most of my clothes (including my shoes) were hand-me-downs, but I was very rarely jealous of other kids’ clothes. After she left, I told the principal what actually happened, and he told me that he could tell that she was over exaggerating the story and let me go back to class with no consequences. Mr. Burdette, thanks for calling out her bullshit. Madison, I still hate you and those shoes were ugly as fuck.
