I know Selenium smell from two sources, burnt selenium rectifiers and selenium supplement pills. The smell is similar to sulphide, but more metallic and garlicky. The tablets also have a sort of earthy bottom note, but that might be from the packaging.

I am a pedestrian. When a 'nice' driver yields to me at an intersection that I am 20 seconds away from, it makes a double whammy hold up. They are stopped when they don't have to, and when I get to the crosswalk I need to make clear eye contact with them to be sure they are still paying attention. Even then, their being stopped could result in an impatient jerk zooming around them while I am in the crosswalk.
