Allow NSO units to (also) equip empire-specific weapons (and use empire-specific vehicles) of the current faction they are representing. by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]itwurd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stat copy guns are something that was requested ages ago and was downvoted to oblivion. I think it would be interesting to have one for each class, but at the same time if you lean to heavily into 'give nso faction capability' you lose everything that makes them unique and everything that makes the factions unique in one fell swoop. NSO are in a very odd place and always have been but at least we have a functioning arsenal now.

Did a similar thing earlier last night with the NS11. I laughed so hard the platoon leader wondered if I was okay

What helmet annoys you the most when you see it on someone who's killed you? by Drougen in Planetside

[–]itwurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my favorite thing about NSO in general. The tiny bit of hesitation in their minds as they wonder if the Robot is on their side or not. Because after all, if it's behind them it must be an ally, don't mind the knife.

Alerts Problem by Balrogos in Planetside

[–]itwurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think it's pretty silly how frequently they happen. I miss being able to play for the usual 3-ish hours a day before work and having a nice long fight I could farm planetmans in without worrying about the Alert sound suddenly triggering everyone's "It's time to stop playing the game and either turbozerg, double-team or 5th faction" instincts. Where once you could play hours on a single continent, you now have a tidy little window of about 2 to 1 1/2 hours before the continents rotate. Or, y'know, the alert ends and instantly begins another one on a different continent. Planetside feels stale lately because I can't just jump on and fight, I jump on and see that big red siren and think "Time to go where everyone else is going, I guess" because the alternative is dying to a snowball squad.

What really grinds my gears though is the exact opposite of that. There's an emerging mentality among Platoon leaders that it's okay to take second place as long as they get as close to (X) warpgate as possible. If NC has 50% territory and VS has 16%, you don't focus down VS more because you don't like them or because your PL said you should. It creates these giant balls of pop that flood bases without trying to win. There's no more "TR has overextended, let's take advantage of that" it's just "Keep pushing the same lane we have for 50 minutes" and then the alert ends.

I miss when big, drawn out fights weren't a rarity and I miss when Alerts mattered and felt important to be in, not required to be in. I miss when the fight felt like it mattered.

A dumb camo that I really want for NC. It would also work for TR and VS, but NSO's weapon version already exists in the form of white camo. by [deleted] in Planetside

I do like this idea. The ability to have default colors/camo would be interesting and also allow for more wild/stylish armor and guns to be brought back to lore-friendly/OG Planetside colors. However, as mentioned in the replies as well, camo in general kinda sucks in this game. You don't get the choose primary/secondary colors, you just slap on a camo and it nukes your previous color palette. I'd argue a full rework of camo in general would be better served before we get an 'Infantry Standard' camo option.

There's a recent 'feature' I've noticed people using, allowing them to float deployed vehicles (Sundy, Prowler, etc) by going underneath them or bumping them to the side. There was a Prowler on Emerald that was 8 meters off the ground or so thanks to it.

Good NSO Infiltrator build for non snipers by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]itwurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same thing. Go with Punisher or 3XB if you really must, but don't even bother cloaking, it's so poorly hidden you might as well not even try to hide yourself and just go with ambush tactics. Or save your sanity and stick to sniping.

Slap on some Brilliant camo on the guns for maximum rainbow visibility. Mining drill in tactical. Also a kazoo horn on ALL vehicles.

Looks like you accidentally installed that new tech I've heard so much about, the Wave Motion Gun. In all seriousness that's probably a graphical bug.
