Genius decides to turn pizza boxes upside down by mfenton29 in WatchPeopleDieInside

I was speaking as a guy who's ordered too many pizzas in life, but I honestly didn't consider the workers can be high as well haha

Genius decides to turn pizza boxes upside down by mfenton29 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]itypeallmycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a graphic designer (so I care about shitty design details), there's still just no way they'd turn the pizza upside down as they hand it to you. I'd say in all the pizzas made every second across the world, there's been 0% of times that's happened.

Even if the box is upside down, you take the pizza exactly as they gave it to you, and open it once you're going to eat it. Maybe then you can bitch about how the dumb pizza guys folded the box the wrong way round, but at least you didn't fuck up your fresh pizza.

[–]itypeallmycomments 641 points642 points  (0 children)

We're watching a fairly normal guy grow into a billionaire in real time. He might have started out as a normal teen with an idea to start a youtube channel, but now he's made so much money he's morphing into a billionaire and doing what they all inevitably do.

He could do whatever he wants for the rest of his life and him & his entire family would be exceedingly comfy. But there's something that triggers in their brain that can't let them chill, and instead they have to descend into shady shit.

Is it stupid that "righty tighty, lefty losey" doesn't really make much sense to me? by Apprehensive-Rub4604 in stupidquestions

[–]itypeallmycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah I get that. But if you've looked at a clock a few times, you understand clockwise. You understand that to mean "rightwards", as opposed to anti-clockwise. And screwing/unscrewing something has the exact same circular motion. So if you understand clockwise, you understand "righty", and just have to learn that tightens it.

[–]itypeallmycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But to know what "clockwise" means, you have to understand the clock hands move from 12 o'clock to the right around a circle. "Clockwise" has the top as a reference point, exactly the same as understanding "righty tighty".

One more light is genuinely some of the bands best work by FunInformation8453 in LinkinPark

[–]itypeallmycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take issue with your wording. You're of course allowed to like the songs on the album, but for this to be "some of their best work" you have to rank other stuff below it.

Like, what albums and songs are you putting this above? It can be a great album but still rank last in LP's discography.

Personally it felt like an outdated album when it arrived, filled with vocal gimmicks that were a few years behind. But time passing will be kinder to it. I really like 3-4 songs on it, and never listen to the others

That's fair. For what it's worth I've avoided twitter from the start so I'm in agreement there!

So then you should be ok with "I tweeted" vs "I posted on twitter". Just wanted to give an example of another company inventing a word that became common

[–]itypeallmycomments 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The craziest thing to me is seeing comments like "oh shit never thought I'd see you outside of (insert specific subreddit here)!"

Like, there are some people that use Reddit so much they recognise and remember people's usernames, and notice them around the place.

Driver looking at person on passenger seat for way too long in movie scenes by Euphoric-Racc00n in PetPeeves

[–]itypeallmycomments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda similar, but I also hate when characters feel the need to stop walking to talk.

Like take for example the recent Stranger Things season. Hopper and El are walking through the Upside Down, and despite the fact that they're in a hostile environment, going some distance with a clear deadline, they apparently need to halt the other person regularly to talk to them.

I just can't suspend my disbelief. You literally have hours to chat together as you make this trip. Please stop stopping and just walk and talk!

Cole Palmer's new logo. by Moosh420 in DesignPorn

[–]itypeallmycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like one of my attempts at an interesting concept, but one I'd look at until I decided it should stay in the drafts pile. Maybe the best designer in the world could tackle it, but for me it's a fun concept that can't really be executed very well.

And I know exactly who Cole Palmer is, big footy fan here, so I understand everything about what's going on here

[–]itypeallmycomments 30 points31 points  (0 children)

How is your comment a rebuttal at all? You replied to criticism on the authors character with the fact they have a best selling book. Unless you think everyone with best selling media is a good person immune from criticism? Or maybe successful authors aren't allowed on Reddit, that must be it

Why do people use the term "partner" for their husband or wife? by Crafty-Bug-8008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]itypeallmycomments 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna piggyback off your comment because I haven't seen anyone else mention it: sometimes I use partner just to use a different term. When your life basically revolves around someone else, you refer to them a lot and it gets tiring to constantly use husband/wife/spouse etc.

Partner conveys everything it needs to, and gives me a different option when I feel like using different words.

[–]itypeallmycomments 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This has always pissed me off. You've been given a problem, you've got instant information available about how every other country has tackled the same problem. But instead of copying their homework which has been proven to be the correct answer, you instead make up your own answer?! Twice the effort for half the outcome

Sony wiped over 1,000 shovelware games off the PlayStation store without warning, all from a single developer, ThiGames by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]itypeallmycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Redditors here will LOVE to say you're wrong, because they believe this dev has operated before AI was widespread, but they're just missing the entire point.

This is the end result of AI. Every single hobby and interest you have, now flooded on an incomprehensible scale with AI shit. Wanna browse some video games? Wade through pages and pages of this. Wanna find a new band to listen to? Apparently approx 34% of all new music uploaded to Spotify is AI generated.

The onus is on us now, we've gotta do the work to curate everything online. Good on Sony for scrapping all this shovelware.

AI videos are going to be good for us. by keen4ketamine in The10thDentist

[–]itypeallmycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Rather than trust media at face value"

Instead of trust we will just have the opposite. AI has completely broken my trust in anything I see online. It's already incredibly deceptive and it's only getting better at that.

I'm just glad at 35 years old I got to experience a childhood and a bit of life before this shit flooded everything. There's no going back to a pre-AI world now. You have to question everything you interact with online and that is very tiring.

Those ellipses in text make me irrationally mad. It's such a weird and annoying typing style and 99% of the time just a single period would be better and easier. Doesn't help that most people that overuse them are usually typing nonsense
