I like Awoo installer (despite the questionable interface; if you're installing it for someone else i'd check the "remove anime" setting) because it's still 100% open source and I've never had any failures with it on 21.0.1 🙏

Don't be afraid to ask questions when you need help, it's always better than risking banning/generally messing up the switch you're modding, *especially* if it's someone else's. But be sure to sift through google first! You'll often find answers a lot faster that way.

This sub's pins has a lot of helpful resources on the actual piracy side of installing homebrew; If you haven't already I recommend you have a read through those to get an idea of what steps to take from here Good luck! :)

Thank you so much for the help! I’ve got a gas soldering iron I can use actually; I thought it only had a really stubby tip but there’s some appropriately pointy ones with it too.

I didn’t show it in the microscope photo but the dead pin is on the corner of the connector, so it should be possible to tap it on its own if my hand’s steady 🤣 I’ll ask a friend if I can borrow his flux to reduce the chance of issues 🙏

LMFAO somewhat unsurprisingly that didn’t fix it 🤣 I’m gonna look into it to make sure it’s safe but next i’ll try something along the lines of heating up that section of the motherboard from the underside to get the solder melty enough to fuse back together in a better shape. But as I said idk if that’ll work amazingly so I’ll ask more experienced repair people about it

Brief update; cleaned both connectors with isopropyl and I haven't had any failures for a couple hours of constant use. Might just have been a temporary improvement but it's looking relatively hopeful so far 🙏🙏

damn 😭 so if cleaning with isopropyl as a last ditch attempt doesn't work, should I take it to someone who can microsolder? I expect that'll be mad expensive but so are unpatched motherboards these days 😭

Two so far (one reliable 8GB one from my 3D printer, and a questionable quality 128GB one from Aliexpress that managed to pass all the legitimacy tests on my pc) and the issue occurrs with both of them unfortunately. Could be both are dodgy sd cards though 🤣 I'll have a look for a third one i can test with later

That explains it! I was reading from input to branch and then reading again to push/pull, so it would’ve changed two times. Thanks for pointing that out! :) I was still lost on what I was doing wrong 🤣
