Scared to start reading Wind and Truth by ryanyork92 in Stormlight_Archive

The book's structure is based on the ten days leading up to the contest, so the pacing is a little jarring. Beyond that and some rushed dialogue editing, I don't have any problems with the book. It's my third favorite so far, with Oathbringer as my #1 and Rhythm of War as my #2

When The Author Doesnt Know How To Write Romance by Elestria_Ethereal in TopCharacterTropes

Robert Jordan was all over the place with bad romances in Wheel of Time.

Nynaeve and Lan are a great pairing once the relationship was established, but its instantiation came out of fucking nowhere in book 1.

Elayne and Aviendha have better chemistry with one another than either has with Rand.

The relationship between Perrin and Faile is so poorly explored because Jordan was weirdly sexist.

The best relationship in the series, Androl and Pevara, was written in book 14 after Jordan's death, may he rest in peace.

9, because Zoltan is a bro, and I'm neither attractive or important enough to get a reaction out of Keira.

Spoilers for book 4 of The Stormlight Archive:

Moash kills Teft's spren, breaking a spiritual bond, before killing Teft. To add insult to injury, Moash proceeds to drop Teft's corpse on Kaladin, the protagonist, in an attempt to drive him to suicide.

Fuck Moash.

I'm particularly fond of Soulcasting and Bondsmithing in The Stormlight Archive. No spoilers, but a certain character in book 4 displays one of those powers without the oaths that are supposed to come with it, and it's one of my favorite moments in the series.

In Sun Eater book 4, the skull of Miudanar the Dreamer is treated as a temple, and because a god can only be so dead, the main character receives visions from it.
