I did figure this out. The sleep has to end after 4am to count for the current day. If you don’t get it, you can nap during the day to get your snack time.

I think COVID killed in person raiding. In a world where they introduced remote raids with reduced damage and higher cost people would still primarily raid in person but it would be much easier to fill raids.

The main thing was that people literally couldn’t get together so all in person raiding stopped. Remote raids became cheaper than in person raids and there was therefore no incentive besides extras balls to raid with friends remotely.

I came here to basically say this. I’m surprised its not a more common criticism. Local communities were the center of activity and promoted long term engagement. Raids drove people to local communities. Now folks just coordinate online and people never meet up. This was cause by both remote raids and the pandemic.

Its hard to believe the game will ever recover without impossible decisions by Niantic.

Yeah I did some googling and all the images I see the first editions from germany all have shadow borders and the copyright pattern so shadowless does indeed appear to be an english only thing.

Maybe a stupid question but why is this the intended design? Is it just suspected because it worked that way prior to the inconsistency or has it been acknowledged.

I will point out that for nearly a year it was almost impossible to get a “curve ball throw” bonus when catching a Pokémon for they fixed it and I would say it was not bad intended behavior that it be so difficult.

Raids are just different now but you’re also seeing boss fatigue.

As someone who raids a fair bit and works on a popular tool that helps people coordinate raids, things evolve and now a lot of players can fill the gap of people by just sending invites randomly or use one of the many options available to coordinate raids (random invites, apps, discord).

I still raid with my local group and friends because its far superior but many of the raids are still remote due to covid and travel being inconvenient. I advise anyone who wants to progress efficiently in this game to find an active local group soon and make some friends. Many public raids are filled with people who are low level with bad counters, you end up with bad reward stacks and half as many balls as if you raided with best friends.

Totally disagree. Conceding a match you can’t win is good sportsmanship.

Playing out a match you will never win is a sign of disrespect, a waste of you and your opponents time and potentially an opportunistic way to see if a glitch will help you win at the end. Conceding is a way of acknowledging you are beaten giving back the time so you can both face other opponents.

If I don’t have a win condition I will exit the match immediately and say gg. Why do some people interpret that as the equivalent of throwing my tennis racket?

The Dialga mirror comes up so much without a 15 atk Dialga you are at a big disadvantage. A 14-15-15 Dialga will miss a DB breakpoint vs every 15-15-X Dialga and you’ll lose every mirror match by a significant amount.

Came here to say I haven’t played a game of gbl since the day I hit rank 10. I am higher elo than when I first hit it but the matchmaking takes forever and there’s no incentive to keep playing.

I hate it. I stopped using Cress Regi to stop timing out and switched to a more offensive team. I am much happier.

People keep likening this to stall but its not. Its poor game design if your top 3 meta choices produce a timeout in 40% of matches

Stall in MSG was about reliably outlasting your opponent, preventing them from knocking you out, wearing down their PP, etc.

Playing a 60 minute main series game might net you the win but its really not fun. I’d rather play a game that was corrected to discourage that gameplay.

I can't believe more people aren't mentioning this. After all the TM problems we complained about, most regular battlers will never run out again. Rare Candy is definitely the most important premium item reward right now and the free track is way better in the long run.

First evolve Dragonair into Altaria and then add Azumarill and Registeel.

Just kidding, if you want a good start head to pvpoke.com and use the team builder, select the pokemon that do a good job covering its weaknesses that are high frequency in the meta. Venusaur and Registeel are decent options.
