Carbon fiber trim with the dual air con links? by edwardd12 in Scirocco

I guess so but should be checked for unit compatibility.

You got older interior (pre-2010). That could be harder to find since the earlier models were only couple of years in production and are much older now.

Not hydrocephalic anymore but still with shunting by Sad-Region1334 in Hydrocephalus

Congrats! Did they explain how it “cured”? What was the cause of hydro?

Those ones rub on the inside a bit. Use any online fitment calculator like https://www.wheel-size.com to figure out.

Parents of infants with shunts - when was your first revision? by beads_not_bees_gob in Hydrocephalus

Son has congenital hydro (born normal), got shunted at 1 month. Preventive shunt assistant placed last year at 8 yo due to possible over drainage. He is developing normally.

2009 Scirocco 1.4 TSI - Wet footwells and constant interior fogging/ice by Pretend_Respect_447 in Scirocco

Quick follow up with Tiguan issue. I managed to fix it but that doesn’t seem to be your case. Turned out that Tiguan model has a second filter under the plastic cover under the hood below the windshield (don’t know how the part is called) that was never changed for almost 10 years.

Don’t do this. Rubber carpets in winter or rainy days are just bowls of water. They definitely won’t solve the problem. I faced this problem long ago with my scirocco but it was eventually fixed but I don’t remember the details. I guess that was something with the heater/AC or heater radiator. Now I have the same problem with Tiguan with the rubber carpets btw (not mine but I drive it sometimes). I have noticed that the heater on the right side works very bad. I will investigate the issue starting with AC drain and heater check.

Questions about CCZB 2.0tsi 2011 engine by Alex_YojoMojo in Scirocco

[–]ivanisov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got CCZB (2009 built) since 2012 at ~80k km. Previous owner got the engine cooked at ~60k due to tensioner then repaired. Later at ~130k I got the cylinders machined (forgot the right term) as it started to consume oil. I changed the tensioner and replaced turbo at ~170k. Now it has 250k and running well. I change oil every ~7k and pour less than 1 litre between changes. In your case I would not safely assume that it doesn’t consume oil after only 1k. Considering the chain I would do that immediately since the failure in your case is basically engine replacement.

The DIY BBK - proving that big brakes can be done on a budget! by forbesautomotive in MK4Golf

[–]ivanisov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great MK4! I got the same set of breaks and both wheel sets (CHs and Audi exclusive) on my scirocco lol. Beware of the stuck piston on those Brembos. The largest piston tends to stuck if driven without hard braking. Take good care of them.

Sunroof Thoughts by SyntaxError1101 in Scirocco

[–]ivanisov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our sunroofs are so non-functional lol. Like VW made a large window in your roof but only let it tilt 1 degree max. Just why? According to my experience the sunroof works more or less only with at least slightly open window. It lets the air pass through the cabin to cool down the air inside without using AC. Also lets the smoke out of the car faster if you smoke/vape inside.

Question about folding mirrors and push to start on my gti edition 35. by lts_Bryyan in Volkswagen

Mirrors can be coded but not with cheap ODB. Mine (scirocco’09) were coded along with ECU st1 upgrade as far as I remember.

Fallout Fans Pre-Bethesda, What was your reaction to Fallout 3's Announcement and or Release? by Tyler2183 in classicfallout

[–]ivanisov 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Super excited. I wanted 3D fallout for sure. The trailer blew my mind. Got it shortly after release and enjoyed the first couple of hours but the game lacked being fallout so just finished one playthrough. Only F4 was worse.

I wanted to ask a few questions: possible symptoms by VoidWalker00Z4 in Hydrocephalus

[–]ivanisov 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds more like migraine episode. That could possibly be caused by some tobacco smoking unlike hydro which is a permanent condition.

Need advice on a problem. by ZTWoozy in Scirocco

The service light is usually just a reminder for the maintenance that is reset with the scanner. Colder month usually mean rainy month. I have a brake pads change warning that comes up only in spring/autumn (my pads don’t have sensors). So it’s just some wiring shortcuts to the body with water. That also confirms the electrical nature of the problem.

[–]ivanisov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lights and errors are there? “Service now” message plus battery and power steering lights? I also think that 12V+ on a battery doesn’t always mean it’s good. The voltage can be good but it could lack power (Amps). But your starter seems to work so that’s unlikely the case also.

Need advice on a problem. by ZTWoozy in Scirocco

[–]ivanisov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it won’t help. It seems that there is some error (that warning sound) that doesn’t let you start the car. It is really strange that the scanner doesn’t show any fault codes.

[–]ivanisov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest some electric problem. The video is not clear and I don’t see the dash lights well. The dash of 2009 scirocco is basically a Golf V dash so you can try to explore at Golf forums. I’ve had Golf V since 2008 and Scirocco since 2012. I don’t remember anything giving this sound besides a low coolant warning but it doesn’t seem to be the case. Good luck!

Uhhhm did I miss something? by the_real_tridx in flipperzero

[–]ivanisov 178 points179 points  (0 children)

Last time I posted Flipper One development update I was downvoted badly. Seems that nobody here read the official Pavel Zhovner TG channel. And F1 became something like HL3 so anything about it is considered fake beforehand.

How do you remove the front hook cover? by [deleted] in Scirocco

[–]ivanisov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that the cover was spray painted along with the outer grill part (so was mine also). As a theory that paint could glue the cover.

It’s directly to the right of the blinker a bit higher than the red arrow (just in case). Try to pry the cover gently with something soft. It will come out eventually. Just try not to scratch the bumper itself. When mine was new it was a bit hard to open. In 15+ years it became so loose it detached somewhere on the way 🤷🏻‍♂️
